Student Government Positions Available

submitted by doozer511 on Friday, May 6 2005 at 6:20 PM

The new session of Student Government has begun, and as always, a new session means new faces and new leadership. The Executive Branch, under yours truly, Whil "The Pirate Captain" Piavis-Student Body President, is looking for students who are interested in serving in the Executive
Branch.

One of President Piavis' top priorities is involving students in the workings of student government. The Division of Executive Management is accepting applications, some with deadlines, and some rolling, for those students who are interested in getting involved. We make it a top priority to select those students who will be dedicated, willing to learn, willing to have fun, and willing to serve other students.

Presidential appointments are an ongoing effort. Some of President Piavis' appointments will require Senate confirmation. These appointments are for many positions throughout the executive branch, for the Cabinet-level members, and for members of some commissions. The President will also make many other appointments that do not require Senate confirmation. All applicants must have a 2.25 gpa.

Applications will be available online at:
http://students.ncsu.edu/executive_management

We look forward to hearing from you, look forward to reading your applications and working with you during the next year.

The Pirate Captain
Whil Piavis
Student Body President

Hey all-
Quick explanation for posting the story -- I'm not in Student Government or anything (graduating actually - YAY!), but since there was so much excitement on here about reforming Student Government and Whil's campaign in general, I thought some of you might be interested. It will take more than Whil to get things done this year

Take care all in these last days of finals!! Amanda

There are 26 exective management positions to be filled.

Two main things you need to fill these positions:
1) Enthusiam/Passion
2) Ability/Willingness to Communicate.
*Most of these positions require only a minor amount of actual experience, the rest can be picked up/learned throughout the year.

From somebody who has planned several large events in the past (not related to student government), let me tell you, it is an absolute BLAST to be a part of these things. Some great memories out of some of the things I've done. Tons to talk about during interviews to boot

haha, I was one of two people in it last year, and I can't even tell you what we did

nonetheless, you're not acutally applying to be in exec. management, but rather in executive branch of SG...exec. management here is just organizing applications and picking people

i don't know, i don't find a 2.25 that limiting. i mean, you get academic probation if you drop below 2.

I found this on one of the computers in the library. Seems someone forgot to log off:

Quote :
"
The melding of puny human "personality" Whil Piavis and the great mind and pure spirit of THE Pirate Captain must stop.

Whil "Who spells 'Will' with an 'h'" Piavis was not voted in as Student Body President. THE Pirate Captain was. Thousands of votes were cast for THE Pirate Captain. None were cast for Whilhelm Piavis.

All of the talk that "Kaiser" Whilhelm Piavis will choose when and where THE Pirate Captain appears is heresy. Only blasphemers suggest that Whil is anything but a mutinous landlubber trying to steal power and the limelight from THE Pirate Captain.

The Student Government and Young Whilhelm should take note. There is a growing, underground movement - a group of staunch supporters of THE Pirate Captain - who will not tolerate stand-ins and actors and treasonous birdbrains who suggest anyone other than THE Pirate Captain controls the Student Government. Whilhelm "Pieface" Piavis running the Student Government in the stead of THE Pirate Captain is nothing less than grounds for impeachment. We elected THE Pirate Captain to represent the student body and we will tolerate no less.

So know this: the underground is watching, and so are our ninjas. "
