OK, NeoEraser, I did that and it doesn't work. I did open=.\JumpFold\FoldConsoleWhatever.exe

will that work, or do I need to get rid of the .\

whenever I plug in the drive, the computer just tries to play music or something

remove the '.' and give that the shot.

Some of you guys must have been folding FOREVER. I've noticed that eeyore57 has 5,252 WU's. That's like, wow.

kinda like wow, it is somewhat misread... you could have a WU mess up or your cpu overheat back in the day and you could submit like ten or twenty a day...

It's built into the console now. 5.0 give syou the option, as long as the user has administrator rights.

aight, we got a system up and running at work right now w/ the 5.02 console. Will the options presented in the console program itself be all I need in order to optimize everything right?

I started running Folding... but it sucks on my computer.
I don't think it supports my G5 very well. Processor load doesn't increase at all, and frankly... it just sucks.

Know of any open source mac ports that work better?
If so, I'll help.

There are no open source ports. Just let the client run. It will take a LONG time, not really something you can sit and watch.

Aaron, you should see an increase in processor usage. Maybe the settings aren't right in the console. Granted, I'm not familiar w/ a mac, but when I used F@H on a linux distro, the processor readings were a bit funky to me, so could that maybe be the case on the mac? The readings not looking as you would expect?

be careful with those lab machines, neo. I'm probably not telling you something you dont already know, or havent already gotten permission for, but some people get very upset when they find out state machines are being used for other purposes than direct academic work related to that respective institution. It would be ashame to get fired for this. Would be 'misuse of state equipment' if someone wanted to get technical (assuming this is an NC State lab). I am making a lot of assumptions, so you could be in the clear, but wanted to point it out.

Post your log file. Maybe we can help to see what the problem is.
Here is a Mac specific Forum that may help:

Basically... it took about 4 hours to run a single unit.
Is that normal?

I'm was not running the GUI or anything

Currently it is taking me 73 hrs to do a single WU on my AMD 1700+, so a few hours is good. Each work unit takes a different amount of time to compute depending on the complexity ect. Don't worry, points for WUs are detemined by the time it takes on a benchmark machine, so bigger WU's may take longer, but you also get more points for them.

Thanks for the concern CarZin, but it's all good. I work for a public school system, actually as an inhouse technician at two schools. I'm at the schools everyday. If there are any problems, I'll be the first to know and the clients will be removed.

I REALLY hope there aren't any problems though.

the signatures should be close to your 24 hour average, based on the average of the last 30 days, (1 or 2 more days until the signatures are 100% accurate)
