Stupid question, maybe: Is there a way to view the app marketplace while not on the phone? My phone isn't here yet, but I'd like to start thinking about what I want to buy for it.

Has anyone seen anything about when the Moment or Hero on Sprint will be getting their official updates? Google says April/May timeframe... but nothing 'official'.

And I'm not wanting to put an unsupported ROM on this, its a phone I need for work and would rather not have to explain it

In regards to the person who posted about their Incredible shutting off randomly it was an issue happening in the Greensboro, Winston area. My sales rep talked to me about it right before I purchased mine and it shut off about 6 times on Saturday morning and after that I had no other problems. I went back to the store for another reason and the guy said the problem will be completely fixed by the end of the weekend. I have not had any problems since returning to Cary.

I personally love the phone and think its great. Yeah the battery seems to go fairly quickly but I charge my phone every night anyway so that does not make or break a phone for me. I like the way it feels and I don't need a slide out keyboard so it was a perfect fit for me. and I could not go wrong for 99 dollars after my upgrade/rebate stuff.

Is there an app that gives a live tracking location of your phone to someone? I.e. I want to email someone a link that gives them a Google maps type thing they can view on their computer that shows a moving dot where I am for a certain period of time...much like flight tracking.

^Google Latitude is built into Google Maps to do this.

So I purposely left off Bluetooth, GPS, and didn't play with mine at all today. I took it off the charger about 10am with a full charge and it was dead by 8pm. I looked at the battery usage and 80% of it was Phone Idle and Cell Standby, wth?

rooted Droid, set CPU, 250min, 800max, set to ondemand

APN on,
GPS, Wifi, Bluetooth off,
Brightness set to min.

Take it off the charger at 8am, 60% battery left at 8pm.

If you don't want to root your phone use something like JuiceDefender (w/ UltimateJuice), SweetDreams, or Locale that can turn on/off services based on location or time.

That or just download the photobucket app. It gives you the option to just upload pictures straight to photobucket after you take them. Gotta be careful with that though.

yea, i know someone at work here who got it and it was dead yesterday before the work day was over. Granted he had it off the charger by 6am because he was getting in early but still kinda sucks. Hopefully people will figure out how to overcome the short battery life because the little bit I used the phone it seemed awesome.

^ mine did that the first day (Droid), but after letting it get a full charge that night, I can actually use it for 2 whole days (minimal phone calls, mostly emails) without recharging it.

my incredible battery life sucks balls.

i can get maybe a day out of it if i dont touch it at all.. (go to bed at 11, wake up at 9, havent touched the phone, good service) and the phone is down to 55%..

i will be investing in a extended battery.. for 50 bucks it seems like a good investment.

^I've been researching extended batteries too. I talked to the Verizon store yesterday and they said they could order one for $70 but wouldn't tell me any stats on the battery other that it came with another door because the battery was bigger.

From what I can find, the stock Incredible battery is about 1300mAh. I've seen some 3rd party batteries that are 1750mAh that do not require a bigger door and then some that are 2150mAh that do require a bigger door.

it's not that big/thick of a phone as is, so i think an extended battery that adds thickness wouldn't be too much of a problem.

I found one for 1500mah that has stock door, but i did not see a 1750mah stock door one.

I did see the 2150mah battery that required the bigger door, straight from verizon in about a week or so according to androidforums.

check here though:

http://www.seidioonline.com/category-s/4169.htm

they have the 1750mah battery and a 3500mah one!! (coming soon though)

I wanted to get a hard case (the black/red mix one, but all black).. That is prolly not going to work without modification with a different back though. SO i have to account that into my extra cost of a bigger battery

Apparently the Incredible release date was moved up about a month ahead of schedule so that's why there aren't many accessories. Below is a leaked image of a car dock made by Technocell but it doesn't automatically put it in car mode. It does seem that the car panel app only works in portrait mode though.
