The only way to be sure is to act as if the books don't exist within the confines of the thread. There is another thread for discussion of the books if people want to talk about it there.

Honestly, I could cut and paste this argument from one of the other dozen or so times I've made it. It's getting old at this point, and very disruptive to the legitimate discussion taking place. In the past mods have been very clear on this point, but for some reason there is never any actual follow up when the book discussion starts back up. I really wish the mods would actually do some moderating around here so we wouldn't have to keep having this discussion over and over and over again."

Again... This is not the thread for that discussion. I don't know why so many of you mongoloids are struggling with such a simple concept. Anyone with even a small amount of intelligence should be able to get it. Unfortunately, we're dealing with people like yourself, so I guess any amount of intelligence is a non-starter.

^and I'm going to continue to whine about it every single time it happens too. At least until the moderators decide to get off their asses and do something about the problem.

ITT we learn that the idiots are the people who can compare and contrast two different works while the intelligent people need to keep them completely separate to prevent their brains from exploding.

Carl's less annoying.

I want Lori to die; although, the idea that her baby could be all zombie stillborn is an intriguing possibility horror-wise, but I doubt they'll do it.

I see something budding between Carl and Herschel's daughter; however, I thought Carl was closer to elementary-aged.

T-dogg spoke up about how they should move forward and I immediately shouted, "Shut up, T-dogg, you're not a real character!"

You "boiled it down" incorrectly. I'm not saying they're unintelligent because they're capable of comparing two things. I'm saying they're unintelligent because they can't figure out that this isn't the proper place to do it. I even said "This is not the thread for that discussion." Did you just purposely choose to ignore that part, or are you just pretending to be stupid to further this asinine argument? Likewise, I don't think that people that don't want to be spoiled to what happened in the comics are so stupid their heads would explode if they had to compare the two.

I keep saying this is a simple concept, but people like you keep showing up and completely missing the point, I do start to wonder if you're all just idiots or if "we don't want to know what happens in the comics" really is a difficult thing to understand.

Just kidding, I know you're all idiots.

I don't want people to be like "in the comics, Rick turns into a zombie and sucks Herschel's dick, I wonder if they do that in the TV show in the next few episodes"

but i really don't care if they're like "interesting, the prison looked larger in the comics" since we all know there is a prison, so its not at all a spoiler

Well except for the fact that douchebags mentioned the existence of the prison in this thread last season before we saw it on the show. Or there are characters that still haven't appeared on the show that have been named and plot lines hinted at that occurred in the comics that may/may not occur on the show.

No, not every single time the phrase "in the comics" is typed is followed by a massive plot point. But the simple fact remains that different people have different ideas about what constitutes a spoiler. I wasn't particularly pleased last season when we saw the hooded person with the pet zombies following them and all the comic book fans came running into the thread to talk about how excited they were to finally see Michonne, and her badass samauri sword, when the show hadn't even so much as revealed her sex yet. Yes, it's a small point, and didn't really ruin anything massive to me, but I would have rather been able to find out that information by actually watching the show rather than having comic book people foreshadow parts of her personality. So the only way to make sure that no one learns something they would rather not know is to have a zero tolerance policy concerning the comic books. For the purpose of this thread, it should be as if the comic books do not exist. Period. There's another thread for talking about them and the differences in the show, and it seems like there are plenty of people that enjoy talking about them here it shouldn't be too difficult to start up a discussion there. Honestly, I can't fathom how this is really such a hard thing to figure out by so many people. I mean, I know people are trying their best to troll me now, but the problem was still pretty bad before I started bitching about it (this time around, anyway).

People the bitching about whether or not to discuss the comics is just as bad as discussing or not discussing the comics. In either case, YOU'RE NOT TALKING ABOUT THE SHOW.

^^I mean, you should have highlighted everything else in that post except for the part that you did, but aside from that I agree with you completely. The mods have made themselves clear and people are now ignoring what they said and they are not around to do shit about it. Thanks for helping me prove my point.

^And you whining about me whining is ruining it even further. It's a vicious cycle. I completely agree with you though. This argument is ruining the shit out of this thread. The problem is it's a side-effect of the actual problem that needs to be solved. If people stop talking about comics, we won't have to keep arguing about them doing it. And make no mistake, I will keep this stupid care-too-much, u-mad bro, asinine whining up as long as I have to until the problem goes away. Don't like it, stop talking about the comics and I won't have anything to bitch about.

I finally got around to watching it on my DVR. A few thoughts:

Why did Rick have to run for the gate to seal off the yard? Seems way to risky. They could have just continued to have zombies reach the fence and faceblast them with their metal rods until ether they killed them all, or took out a much larger number to lower the risk to Rick.

I am a little thrown off why the zombie that bit Heschel stayed so still for so long. Don't most all the zombies immediately react instead of playing opossum? On a side note, Hershel should not have strayed from the group. That should be zombie survival strategy #1 at this point. I know he was reacting to Maggie calling out, but still.

I don't see how Lori's baby can tear her up inside. It's not going to have teeth, so at most it may start squirming around and feel uncomfortable. How developed are the fingernails of an unborn baby? With that said, I hope this baby goes Alien on her stupid whore ass. I am looking forward to a scene where they have to cut the baby out prematurely because either Lori turns or the baby turns. Or better yet, Rick hate-fucks Lori, and the baby bites Rick's dick. Doubt it, but let a dreamer dream.

I find this thread interesting when people are talking about the show, but only after I see the episode myself. Can we talk about the show some more? Plz? I have not read the comics, but I also don't get butthurt when I see a spoiler. Just more show analysis and less bitching. Plzkthx

One more thought. Is it okay for everyone to have zombie blood enter their system? Zombie blood splatters all over their face, so some must get in their eyes and mouth. Glen also kisses Maggie's blood covered back and shoulder. If they are all technically infected, does the virus only affect them after they die? If so, then why would a little scratch turn them into a zombie? How is a little scratch different from getting zombie blood in your mouth?

I can see how a huge bite would cause you to bleed out and die, and then turn. I know it's just a fictional show, duh, but there should still be an explanation within the context of the show. Any ideas?

Don't post spoilers. Don't post about stuff that happens in the comics if it hasn't happened in the show yet. Message a mod if you have a problem. Act like an adult.

Okay, I think that covers it.

Just to throw this out there since it's apparently such a sore subject for (ahem) some of you: Did anyone else other than me become curious enough about the show to actually go seek out the original source material? I had never read a single issue until after I heard that the show was being made. They aren't terribly difficult to find online. I did the same thing with Game of Thrones books. I don't really understand why someone wouldn't want to investigate the originals if they like the TV version.

Why is less than 20% of each page actual episode analysis, and over 80% of each page bitching about spoilers/comics/posting rules. Can we get back to the issues at hand?

Why does zombie blood in the face (getting in eyes and mouth) have zero affect? I can understand being ok if it gets on your skin, assuming you wash it off in a reasonable time. If it gets in your eyes, nose, ears, or mouth, it should have the same affect as a zombie scratch - a slow burning death before turning. Once it is in your blood stream, then you should die and turn. With the concept of them already being infected, I suppose the only way to turn is to first die, regardless of how you die. With that said, a little scratch should not turn anyone, since it is not a fatal wound. Maybe an infection of the wound could kill you if left untreated. Most zombie bites would probably cause someone to bleed out and die. I feel there has been some confusing inconsistently on how people turn.

This flaw is almost as bad as the zombie that picked up the rock to smash threw a store window in season 1. Get those fine motor skills out of my zombie show!

I don't know, I never read them. Based on the show alone, people have turned from simply dying (Shane), as well as from a small scratch (the grave digging dude from season 1). Well, I guess they technically never showed that second dude die, just get a severe fever after being wounded. Hmmm, so come to thing of it, I don't recall any small scratches resulting in death/turning.

Well they said everyone is already infected, you don't become infected because a zombie kills you. So if you were old and just killed over, you'd still wake up as a zombie. So getting the blood in their mouth isn't going to kill them. It's the wounds getting really infected(rotten flesh tearing into your skin or the loads of bacteria from a zombie bite) or people bleeding out.

yea honestly i think they've been a little inconsistent on people turning, and they use whatever mechanism they need to if they want to kill someone off/have them turn.

also might have a little to do with the writing turnover between the seasons?

I wonder HOW everyone initially got infected. Maybe making contact at one point, and getting zombie blood into their system. I suppose the infected zombie blood will still spread in your system, but doesn't actually turn you until you die. So what about someone who never had any type of contact with a zombie or any on infected, would they remain unturned when they die? I think so.

I suppose this explains how brashly they go into combat in the show, not giving a shit about zombie blood splatter. Maybe this means Hershel is perfectly fine after getting his bitten leg cut off, unless the blood loss kills him. The wound would not have had time to become infested with any bacteria from the bite, and spread disease into Hershal, killing him that way. As long as they carterize the would, and prevent any infection from an open and untreated wound, Hershel is going to live. So basically, if you get a scratch or a bite, you are okay, as long as you treat it and prevent a bacterial infection or significant blood loss. Got it. With that said, it is still gross that Glenn kisses Maggie's blood covered back. Eww.
