What's going on between the two - is he hurt that she was upset at Shane's death? Hasn't he gotten over it already? There was obviously a good bit of time that elapsed between the end of season 2 and the beginning of this one.

With the blonde lady with her, there'd be no reason to sneak around.

I would be shocked if it is Michonne. My guess is that it is a scout(s) for the Governor's group. Having not read the comics, I have no idea how the Governor's group operates. We will see soon enough.

I'm thinking that if the person watching Carol isn't someone new, it is Darryl's brother.

Also, I'm liking this dark/ruthless Rick. That's how you'd have to be in such a situation and I'm glad he's done trying to help people all the damn time. Correct me if I'm wrong but he's mad at Lori because she pretty much asked him to kill Shane then got all pissed at him when he actually did?

^ you are right. I am sorry. friends? circle YES or NO

^^ I think Rick is just mad that he had to turn on his former best friend & an experienced fighter b/c of Lori's whore-ish ways.

Yeah, I have no idea what is going on between them other than they're on the outs right now. Maybe I missed something in the dialogue last week.

I really liked this episode, minus one thing that I think really captures the biggest pitfall of this show. WTF did Carroll need to go play operation right then and there?

1) Herschel is screwed up on the bed
2) The group is out clearing part of the prison and someone could come back wounded (they literally just came back with a guy with half a leg)

Also, there was a female zombie within the prison fences that they killed when they first encountered the riot gear zombies.

There was no need to go take the risk they took, especially not at that moment. Could it really not wait until tomorrow? Or at least until the whole group was back together? I know Lori will be due soon, but nobody with common sense thinks that's the time to perform that task. It seemed completely out of the blue and like they were "forcing" themselves into danger.

Not to mention the fact that there were like 5 zombies right there that they could have killed no problem, but instead relied on averting their attention while you open up the facility's only weak spot to drag a fresh zombie corpse inside.

^^^They keep mentioning burning the bodies even though they haven't really shown it. The one they killed when they first came into the prison may have already been burned.

As for the timing, unless she had reason to believe it had to be done right away, I don't see why they couldn't have waited a couple of hours for the group to come back.

exactly. she basically told him Shane was crazy, that Shane loved her, that he thought Rick couldn't protect her and Carl and that they were meant to be together. She then told Rick that the only way to stop Shane was by killing him. Then after that, she approached Shane and was all apologetic and nice to him, then she freaked-out when Rick told her he was forced to kill Shane, and looked at Rick like she wanted to kill him and ran-off. That really started the "Rictatorship". I think that at the end of this episode, when she wanted to talk about their relationship, and all Rick could say was "we appreciate what you did", he was basically saying "No more of this wife/husband romance shit, you're just part of our group, and we're just trying to survive".

On the AMC site, they explain that final scene. They said that Rick still has not forgiven Lori, but he is trying to get over it. The touch on her shoulder is suppose to show significant progress towards his attempt to recover their relationship. The fact he says WE instead of I, also shows that he has a ways to go.

at this point does Rick still question who's baby it is? or has he given up any hope of it being his and just assumes it is Shane's?

How long was the time gap from S2 to S3? For some reason I remember hearing ten months, but wtf, that would be a whole month overdue for Lori. Maybe it was only 5-6 months because s2 ended in fall and s3 started in spring (I think). I think this because they spent the end of s2 worrying about the looming winter and it getting too cold to stay outside. Then s3 started with T-Dogg commenting about going in circles all winter. It is too hard to tell if the baby is Shane's or Rick's based on the time if conception. She started D-ramming with Shane about 1 week after the outbreak, then switched to Rick once he joined the group, which may have been about 2 weeks after the outbreak.

Oh, and LOL for saying Lori will need a cesarean. After all the D-ramming she did, that baby is going to shoot out like a slip-and-slide.

On second thought, she may request a cesarean in order to keep her money maker in tact in case anything happens to Rick. Can't give up that bargening chip in case she needs to whore her way back to the top again.

The time lapse between Rick leaving the convicts in their cell block and when they show Carol seems too short. The guy Rick left for dead seemed completely trapped by walls on all sides. I still think it is a spy from the Governor's group, either stumbling upon the prison, or confused to see a person while on a regular supply run to the prison.

I am excited to see next weeks episode where they will actually introduce new characters to the show that will be around for more than an episode. I know Michonne is the newest addition, but she has had very limited character development so far. I am sure that it will pick up, as she is suppose to be a huge character in TWD story.

if you watch The Talking Dead or clips on AMC's website, they have mentioned the Governor a few times already. He had not been formally introduced in the show, but has been publicized enough by now.

^ i agree.

the character of the governor is no longer a spoiler. it has been discussed numerous times already in this thread, magazine publications as well as on the talking dead, like mentioned.

I'm not gonna get butthurt about it because I don't really care about such a minor spoiler (just revealing the name of a future character doesn't really do much in terms of spoilers) but I'm gonna have to disagree with ^, ^^, ^^^ you guys.

I don't watch the Talking Dead and I haven't read any of the graphic novels. I would have no knowledge of a character called "The Governor" if it weren't for this thread. Sure it may have shown this guy in the previews for the season, but all I can gather from those that there is some guy in some kind of leadership role that Andrea meets up with in some kind of city.

For those of you who have read the comics, what characters have they had on the show that are not in the comics?

I know the show is loosely based on the comics, but there has been enough ranting about 'differences' to make me curious. All I picked up on so far is people saying TDogg is unique to the show. Anyone else so far?

seriously, i completely understand why you don't want to hear spoilers from the comics, but why do you care if it's pointed-out which characters on the show aren't in the comics? isn't that kinda the opposite of a spoiler?

I am curious about the show's creative liberties. Characters unique to the show will be immune from people throwing in spoilers about what will happen, or suppose to happen, to them based on the comics. I like that people are all like 'who the fuck is TDogg', he'll probably die off soon because he is not a main character. Meanwhile the show makes him a three-season character, who is slowing developing a greater role within the group. He is a fire poker wielding badass now

Significant characters on the show which do not appear in the comics:

- Merle
- Daryl
- T-Dogg
- Beth
- Jacqui
- Jenner

The show has taken and is continuing to take some pretty big departures from its "source" material.

^^I don't remember Jacqui either. Jenner was the doctor at the CDC which is also the only real location that is original to the show.
