my best guess is that someone was trying to heat their apartment... space heater, kerosene heater, etc., and left it on after they left.

I drove past soon after it happened. There was a 4Runner on its side in the middle of the highway, 4-5 passersby crowded around the vehicle, as no responders had arrived yet. I also saw a Tacoma facing the wrong direction halfway up the embankment and a Mercedes(?) pulled unto the shoulder with a nice sized dent in driver door.

I saw no other damaged or apparently involved vehicles, but I was traveling in the opposite direction.

I know the Trooper in passing as he has been in my radio shop before.

He is in surgery and is expected to survive but will have long recovery road ahead.

Abandoned Suspect vehicle has indeed been located in parking lot in area of Roxboro St and Avondale Dr.
