Not at all.

It's pretty divided.

Most of the white people just see it as a fucked up situation, and think that Zimmerman we more than likely defending himself.

The blacks just see it as a dude gunning down an innocent kid for being black.


Going on Zimmermans claims, and since we will more than likely never know who threw the first punch, but if it was Trayvon, he goes from being innocent to criminal the moment that first punch lands.

He was not some innocent kid shot while walking down the street which is what some people need to realize.

He was a "kid" shot during a physical confrontation.

But I know you are referring to Trayvon, so let me explain this to you...

Zimmerman was following Trayvon which is 100% legal to do whether you think it isn't or don't agree with it.

At any point during that, Trayvon attacks Zimmerman, that is not self defense, which most of you are having a very difficult time understanding.

If you are following someone and they attack you first, you have the legal right to defend yourself.

They have just heard small bits and pieces here and there.


I'd say Florida is out of the question, but it's not as big or well known to as many people as you would think.

They didn't move Casey Anthony out of Florida, or Brad Cooper out of Wake County even. They aren't moving this one out of state.

He'll get a plea deal (if he hasn't run), and it'll likely never go to trial.

But I agree, media makes getting a fair trial very difficult, and I really do hope he gets a fair one.

Which is basically what I was trying to get at.

Based on what we know so far, and unless there is some just overwhelming damning evidence like someone caught the entire thing on video, there really doesn't seem to be enough for a slam dunk manslaughter or murder conviction.

The prosecutor sees this as a win win.

Zimmerman who more than likely was justified in the shooting of Trayvon, won't do much if any time if he pleas to a lesser charge after being arrested or is found not guilty in a trail.

And the black community gets the satisfaction that the guy was arrested.

While they will still be outraged, it won't be near as bad if the guy was just left free without ever being arrested or charged.

Personally I think it's absolutely ridiculous.

I think one of the main reasons he is being charged with anything is because of the racial issues with this, and the fact that that town would probably be torn to shreds by the black community if he wasn't

This is racism within itself.

The guy is basically going to be forced to plead guilty to manslaughter or risk his freedom in the eyes of potential jurors where this case and its "victim" have been grossly misrepresented.

I hope he gets a dream team of lawyers who absolutely wreck the prosecution and any of these racial pressures they try and use.

Why? Because I am willing to look at the evidence we have and conduce that based on what we have, the claim of self defense is very likely, and plausible?

It's not a clear cut case of a guy rolling up on a teen and shooting him in cold blood.

He shot him during a physical confrontation that occurred while Zimmerman was legally following Trayvon.

Now if Zimmerman provocked him by throwing the first punch, or pulling his gun on him and holding him at gunpoint, thats different, but we have no evidence to show that that happened.

This is so incredibly stupid. Obviously there is some question as to whether or not it was justified use of force. There was literally no chance this wasn't going to end up with a charging and go to trial.

If they were going to charged based on race, they wouldn't have taken this long.

And the whole point of a jury and jury nullification is that society determines who is a criminal, not words in a statute, or the ignorant, naive ramblings of someone who works in a restaurant (or anywhere else).
This is how democracy works. It's not always perfect, but it's hard to argue that we are heading to what should have been the correct outcome from the beginning of this case.

The only way this could get worse is if it turns out the state attorney had other motivations or if the cops buckled the crime scene in excess of common incompetence .

I actually questioned whether or not it was an ethical violation to hold a press conference like they did. I'm not sure what the answer is, but either way, it did make me uncomfortable at their representation of their client.
