Discussing breeds of dogs, aside from the lack of human "breeds" as such, is particularly apt because of the amazing genetic similarity between dogs, comparable to human genetic similarity. Dogs are ~.2%-1% genetically different, while people are ~.1%, depending on the sources you take. It makes the discussion meaningful. Were the person you were calling a racist to call a given race "dogs," that would be different, but bringing up another species with similar genetic similarity yet a wide range of what we might consider an analog to a "race" is entirely within reason.

Obviously this chick is just scamming to play the race card, but hypothetically if someone did have a mental disorder where they identified as a different race, and they had surgery to change their race, I don't see how you could think that is ridiculous if you think transgenders aren't.

I think transgender is caused by a mental disorder, just like "body integrity identity disorder" where the suffer feels they would be happier as an amputee so they remove limbs. Basically if you are fucked in the head you may feel like you need to do surgical corrections to make you happier.

Thats just my 2 cents after hearing about this on ESPN at my local Buffalo Wild Wings, while watching sports and enjoying a cold PBR.

Because there are sex hormones and not race hormones? Not much of an explanation. As far as I'm concerned, whatever mental disorder that causes one to identify as something they aren't could apply to gender and race.

Transgendered females have male hormones and male chromosomes, but identify as females = Ok to liberals

Transracial black people have white genetics but identify as black = crazy to liberals.

Your wiki link has 2 types of theories for the "cause" of transsexualism.
1. Psychological and behavioral
2. Biological-based theories

Your point is that #2 doesn't apply to transracial people.

My point is that #1 applies to both, and since there isn't an established science behind the "cause" of transsexualism outside of it being a mental disorder, it is just as legitimate as transracial.
