If voting fraud were as rampant as suggested (millions of votes), then it should be a relatively small feat to support this with facts and evidence. Until that happens, then I will continue to regard Trump as a fucking liar undeserving of even the benefit of the doubt. You literally cannot believe the words coming from that man's mouth or thumbs without verifying first.

Where are we on CIA blacksites?

Are we supposed to pretend Trump isn't every bit as hawkish as his predecessors?

NO WORRIES, IT LOOKS LIKE HE'S ACTUALLY DOING A GOOD JOB SO FAR

this looks like a totally reasonable press release from a completely normal, well-adjusted president. everything is fine.

This is the point. Is Trump himself a highly calculating super villain? NO.

But has he risen to power off of a wave of nationalistic fear and demagoguery? YES.

Has he inherited a massive, unaccountable apparatus of state surveillance and militarism? YES

Did he send out his press secretary out on the first day to scold and reprimand the media and to declare official falsehoods? YES

Is he the kind of man who is willing to use all those tools to exact political scores? YES

Just because Trump himself is a bumbling, insecure bozo incapable of introspection or critical analysis does not lessen the power he wields, or the damage he is capable of.

I love how the goal posts keep shifting for "calm down, nothing has happened yet"
- Trump doing well in polls
- Trump getting nominated
- Trump continuing to stand by his birth certificate lie
- Trump admitting philandering and sexual assault
- Trump winning election
- Trump not divesting/recusing himself from conflicts of interest
- Trump selecting an self-avowed alt-right (white nationalist) leader as close advisor
- Trump selecting a conspiracy theorist as nat security advisor
- Trump selecting self-admitted people, and grossly unqualified people to head government agencies
- Trump shutting down science comms from public-funded research
- Trump coining the "alternative fact" term, for "lies", to describe his administrations justification for statements
- Trump putting out a press release about how great he is, ala Kim Jong Un

That press release reads like reviews for a book or movie.

$5 says he'll come out with a presser at some point declaring that he wants to revive the nations furniture manufacturing capability. For too long we've been importing cheap furniture from China. "I hear we have a lot of wood out there in the Redwood forest. Why are we just sitting on all those natural resources. All we do is drive there and go look at them. My executive action today will release all that timber for jobs. Jobs Jobs Jobs.

http://www.cnn.com/2017/01/25/politics/trump-calls-for-major-investigation-into-voter-fraud/index.html

This voter fraud investigation is a reckless and irresponsible use of gov resources. There's literally no evidence this happened, the one initial claim was made by some crank on twitter who had no information, and the entire GOP up to the presidency ran with it.

It's literally the same thing as if someone on TWW made an outlandish claim and the president took it seriously.

This is completely nuts.

Black sites coming back (trying to at least)

So the US will soon be a country that:
- Blocks muslims refugees but lets Christians one in
- Blocks ALL travel from certain predominantly muslim countries
- Openly embraces torture
- Has a border wall (maybe)

So is there anything that Trump has actually done that is objectively bad? Or are you guys just going to keep it at 10/10 partisan hack hysteria mode?

Please don't validate the integrity of our voting process! Please no! Oh god, making sure there isn't voter fraud? The horror!!!!

I'm sure there is more, but it takes so long to filter out the legitimate problems from the giant cesspool of leftist hackery and shit-flinging in the media.

I'd like to point out that 5 of the 6 sources for praise in that release are one journalist's twitter account, Sean Hannity, and three editorial boards.

To me his actions in the first few days have fallen into 2 categories:

1- Doing crazy shit like lying about his inauguration crowds, starting a war with the media for reporting facts (CIA rift for example), and saying there is massive voter fraud that would bring into question the basic legitimacy of our democracy.
2 - Doing the things he said he was going to do while campaigning.

So people that like Trump are going to say none of that shit in #1 really matters. But hey look how awesome it is that he is doing #2 because that's why I voted for him.

And folks left or center are saying holy shit this is a disaster not only is he doing #2 (which i hate) but he's also insane as evidenced by #1.

Soooo....I just realized I have no real point here.

Which, of course, is no big deal and likely a simple oversight. Certainly don't think either not them was deliberately engaged in any wrongdoing.

You guys realize your entire leftist narrative was that voter fraud doesn't exist, or was impossible...

yet you are so desperate to attack Trump with ANYTHING, that you push this irrelevant piece of information (He is registered twice, didn't vote twice)... while apparently remaining unaware that it undermines your initial stance of a flawless voting system.

lol

For what it's worth and to clarify for anyone who might care, my stance has always been, since the beginning, that in-person voter fraud is nearly non-existent.

I do have to give Trump some credit.

Everything he promised (even bringing back torture apparently), though almost all abhorrent and dangerous, he is doing. I guess that is what you want of a guy if you voted for him.

Are you referring to people opposed to him ordering an investigation into voter fraud because it's unnecessary and expensive? Outside of the money, there's another big reason for this:

Less than a week into his presidency he's already lied multiple times to the American public (you've even admitted as such). So I would be very wary of him ordering any "research" on voter fraud only for it to turn out that, shockingly, he found TONS OF IT, and will then push for tighter voter laws that happen to affect poor people the most..you know, coincidentally

The point is that this is what Trump is referring to when he says there is massive amounts of voter fraud. He specifically mentioned people registered in two states... then turns out several people close to him meet that very definition. No one is saying that there isn't some voter fraud and sure it would be nice to fix that. However, Trump doesn't care about actual voter fraud... he cares that people don't think he is the BEST and is willing to burn through taxpayer money just to satisfy his ego and is only going to realize he is wrong and never admit it or simply lie about it straight up and say he doesn't have to provide actual proof.

Cost about what? I've been critical about wealth redistribution, not tax dollars going to something that is actually required for our nation to exist.

Nice try though

This is hilarious to watch the liberal press go nutso.

He is going crazy with his campaign promises, and when he is announcing him, he drops a "my crowd was bigger" and "illegals voted illegally".

Meanwhile....he's getting S#1T done MAGA.

Hey JCE how much longer until you start telling us all how culture mixing is the failed policy of the left, America is a White European nation who needs to protect her identity, and minorities need to self segregate and repatriate back to their homelands peacefully before the government has to do it for them.

If you're already there and I've missed it I apologize for not reading through the whole backlog of horseshit you spout on a regular basis.

And if you don't feel this way then please feel free to denounce the above stance and any who hold it.
