Hillary really must like Bruce. The Rising and Land of Hope and Dreams both played in her 11:30 address tonight.

Got my tickets in the mail today - upper level left of stage, but I didn't even learn about the concert until about two weeks ago, so this was the best avaliable at that time. Still looking forward to the show.

Second time I saw him was in the nosebleeds at Greensboro. Was still awesome. Of course, a Boss concert is a holy experience for me...

I've never done general admission before. Plus I'm trying to get into the pit. The lottery system they use kinda sucks. Not sure if it's standard practice around at all big concerts or what...but I'm worried...

He stopped playing with them sometime in March I believe so they'll cancel a few shows but they'll definitely be back in time for that Atlanta show. My mom would be livid if they postponed those NC dates. She's been talking about it for a while now.

I am wholly understanding if G'boro gets postponed. They've played together for over 40 years.

I don't think playing concerts is a sign of disrespect at all. It would be a way of honoring their friend.

FYI, we (96 Rock) will be giving away tix to the show in Greensboro all weekend long. You can win a pair of tix to the show PLUS a meet and greet with Little Steven. Just be listening for Springsteen songs all weekend long. (/end plug)

That being said, I have my tix and can't wait for the show.

To anyone else going general admission, make sure you study up on the lottery process for getting into the pit. It's incredibly stupid, but it is what it is.

Ten songs in to the first night back since Danny's passing. There's a spotlight on an accordian sitting next to the organ on stage. Growin' Up followed by Atlantic City.

Personal highlights:

- Darlington County
- Kittie's Back
- Lost in the Flood
- Prove it all Night
- WILD BILLY'S CIRCUS STORY
- Badlands (duh)

Seriously, I've seen a lot of live music lately that has either way exceeded my expectations (Spoon, WEEN) or have been, at some point, musical heroes of mine (Stephen Malkmus, Son Volt, Gary Louris)

But nothing has been so much of both of these things at the same time. I've always been a huge Boss fan but balked on the opportunity to see a show, and now I 100% see what all the fuss is about.

The man brings it like no one has ever brought it or will bring it before. I took two-non-Boss fans and had awful seats and it immediately is one of the top5 shows I've ever seen.

awesome concert!

Me and Restricted had below average seats but none the less it was great.

Badlands was amazing and Dancing in the Dark was a perfect suprise!

I'm telling you, the E Street Band is a machine. They didn't stop once. The break between the set and encore was less than 3 minutes. They were nonstop. Man it was a great show.

if you go to ticketmaster, tickets are still available and the password for student discounted tickets is "student" ... heh...

got myself and my friend 2 seats about 6 rows back upper level for 90 bucks total Bop!

what a treat it is to see this band perform.

Lost in the Flood was awesome but Wild Billy's Circus Story was legendary. And when is the last tour he has performed Kitty's Back? My old man was fucking jealous.

G'boro... ya know, I can't even compare charlotte and greensboro. both are religious experiences. somehow backed into great seats for cheap on ticketmaster day-of. Must've been guest list or promotional tickets that never were distributed, because we paid "student" price.. 45 total per seat, and were 2nd row balcony, straight back, dead-center of stage.

highlights:
- Nils in "Because the Night"
- Last night's replacement for "Circus Story" as a tribute to Danny - It's Hard to Be a Saint in the City (!)
- Bobby Jean
- Bruce and Steven dueling in "Gypsy Biker"
- Darkness on the Edge of Town
- Ramrod
- Backstreets

... also, I don't know why you would EVER not close your set with Badlands if you were Bruce. it is PERFECT... American Land, also.. as encore closer... just has you walking out of the arena in the best mood possible.

A+++++++++

^Fuck yeah! You got Darkness, that is awesome. And backstreets. Sounds like an awesome show in its own right.

reading the notes from the road on Backstreets.com apparantly Clarence missed his solo the first time around on Badlands. I must have been totally into the jam cause I didn't even notice

Someone help me out: is a Bruce show:
a) The greatest rock and roll show on earth?
or
b) The greatest thing ever to be on a stage in history?

"Trapped" ftmfw.

ANYWAYS...if anyone was in the pit in Greensboro, I'm the one who proposed to my girlfriend at the beginning of "She's the One."

^you don't come off as a Boss fan. mad cred fool, mad cred.

^^^from that article

Quote :
"Rolling Stone magazine recently declared Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street Band the best live act. This, in itself, is not surprising; Springsteen is well known for having a great live performance throughout the years. The amazing part is Rolling Stone magazine named them the best live act - in the last year!"

I got some tickets to Charleston, but now that I have some legit vacation (like, a Vegas trip) lined up, I'm not sure I can afford the trip with a couple people, or the day off work I'd want to travel.

Especially since I just saw Charlotte and Greensboro, and I have uppers for Charleston

my question, though, is ... what about the E Street Band?
are we likely to get them touring again together in a year or could this be it for awhile/ever?
How does Danny play into this?

I've seen a TON of big-name "this is an amazing live act" shows in the last year

Pearl Jam x2
a bunch of bonnaroo shows (My Morning Jacket, Zappa Plays Zappa, Metallica)
White Stripes
Arcade Fire
Smashing Pumpkins
Radiohead
Ween like x4

etc etc etc

and The Boss (my first two, Charlotte and Greensboro) blows em all totally out of the water. The only thing close was MMJ at bonnaroo, and, really, it is close.

But everyone else isn't even close, and that's saying quite a bit. a lot of those shows were mind-blowingly awesome, but none of em had "Lost in the Flood" or "Backstreets" or "Wild Billy's Circus Story"

its hard not to be when you grow up in Monmouth County

If I had two CD's with me at any given time, one was Biggie and one was Bruce

I'm electic like that

I'm somewhat renowned for my karoke version of "Lost in the Flood"
