search function is busted.
we're starting the process of looking for a 3+ bedroom house with a decent backyard. we're looking at foreclosures as well as realtors (though we haven't contacted one directly).
anyone have any specific suggestions for realtors or locations? we're hoping to go no higher than 130-160k. being near campuses or downtown isn't necessary, as both of us will probably be commuting to work (durham and maybe chapel hill). 4/8/2008 1:10:02 PM |

beware a bunch of part time agents filling your inbox
google raleigh nc listings and you will come up with dozens of sites that you can do an MLS search on.
For instance, here is the first result:
http://www.real-estate-raleigh-nc.com/MLS%20Prop%20Search-Frameset.html
Look around, get a feel for the market and what is available, then talk to an agent. 4/8/2008 1:16:03 PM |

Hey I moved into a house on the Durham side of Briar Creek. There are several home in my neighborhood available.
I know a few that have an ARM that is about to give up and they are really motivated to sell. We are 15 min from every mall....seriously (South Point, Cary, Crabtree, and Triangle Towne Center). Convenient to 540, 40, and 70. I love it. (Maybe I like it since it is 4 miles from work). Briar Creek is 5 min. from here. Meadows at Pagehurst is the subdivision name.
I like the neighbors. We got a 4 bedroom 2 car garage and spent 183K. The 3 bedrooms homes with no garage are within your range.
When I was in school the Carolina Pines area had several older homes that fit the range. On chase's website they have a section that says "CHASE-OWNED properties" if you are looking for foreclosures. Commuting Sucks!
Good luck! 4/8/2008 1:21:31 PM |
