I've got a motorcycle flywheel that someone has hammered on enough to lose it's magnetism. Any way I can get it remagnetized? 4/9/2008 10:57:11 PM |

no, and you cant replace the magnets either, just get a new flywheel, and probably a new crank if you beat on it that much, try using the correct puller next time 4/10/2008 10:39:49 AM |

Meh. It happens. I made a thread a few years ago when I had to pull the flywheel off my Sea Doo. Fucker took me two days with literally hours of turn the wrench, heat, hammer, repeat. I was using a harmonic balancer puller, a three foot breaker bar, a propane torch, and a hammer. Ended up breaking two ratchet handles, two balancer pullers, and gouged up the kitchen floor in the process. I'm sure I destroyed the crank seals with all that heat. Not a big deal since the motor was just going back as a core.
No idea why you would hammer something on though. That's weird.

Think he meant the guy struck the flywheel directly with the hammer. 4/11/2008 1:48:09 PM |
