This is really neat to check out. A lot of cool old photos of campus and events around campus on there. Currently a picture of Reynolds Coliseum from 1950-something is my wallpaper.

^I've got one like that and it was a pretty good christmas present for someone who didnt know me all that well. Most of the pics in it come from the NCSU archives like in the link above but I'd say about 20% are from private donors.
There's some amazing shit I never knew about or used to be there in both the link and the book. I loved those steam tunnels on main campus, so much stuff that people never knew about. Just like the incoming classes will never have personally seen the old Riddick Stadium that was here when I came. Makes me feel all old and shit.

there were a couple of threads
one was the orphanage thread... there's probably a bunch of stuff tucked away in the hillsborough st threads... and there was the thread where they took old pics of campus and overlayed them with a transparency slider against the modern pics 6/27/2008 8:38:46 PM |

The University Archives is totally awesome, I spent half a semester in there doing research. It was when they were doing construction in the east wing, so it was a bit of a mess. Tons of books, pictures, newspapers, etc. Definitely something to check out if you're interested in the history of State or Raleigh. 6/28/2008 1:02:53 AM |
