In Before:

Well, I generally come in at least fifteen minutes late...after that I just sorta space out for about an hour. I just stare at my desk; but it looks like I'm working. I do that for probably another hour after lunch, too. I'd say in a given week I probably only do about fifteen minutes of real, actual, work.

But in reality:
Get in around 7:30am
Check Email, News, Eat Breakfast
Work until lunch
11:30am-12:30pm lunch break. Usually read at my desk
Work after lunch
Go home

of course during the work periods, there are intermittent periods of non-work

I get in with the carpool around 7:45. I log into my workstation and laugh at the awful escalation e-mails sent overnight by the receptionists in California.

On Skype, my carpool friends and I review the scuttlebutt around the office: who's out sick, who's talking on the speakerphone like a jackass, who brought doughnuts, etc.

If I had database restore requests waiting from the night before, I check on them. If I have open cases waiting on another department to return a result, I check for the results. I try to have coffee by this time.

My team leader comes around by 9:00 to chat with everyone and review the plan for the day, if there is one. That usually means bug testing for our latest release candidate.

There's generally no new work for the day until 10:00. I like to tweak my demo data and work on custom reports and shit like that during this time. Sometimes, I read documentation for other products.

None of my clients are live with the product I support yet, so I don't many support cases. I spend the morning helping my friends with cases. We usually just bullshit over Skype, but the new guy gets stuff that needs to be reviewed at his desk. That gives me a chance to say hello to my old team.

Lunch at noon. Half the time, I've brought leftovers. The other half of the time, we go out. We have a weekly pilgrimage to Pei Wei.

If it's a Monday or Thursday, I usually have a call with a client in the afternoon to review the status of their implementation. Right now, that means a lot of defining roles: Who does what in your organization, who should I talk to when a decision needs to be made about implementation, and what do your current workflows look like?

I usually wind up documenting bugs or helping my teammates with product-specific cases most of the afternoon. If there's nothing more interesting going on, I bullshit on the Internet or complain to my team lead about development issues that I have a snowball's chance in Hell of influencing.

Work ends at 5:00. I head downstairs and meet my carpool in the lobby. On the ride home, we decompress. If there was an interesting case, we talk about it in detail and discuss ways the issue could have been prevented. This is the most productive part of my day with regard to my job. We also vent about irritating clients, irritating co-workers, and irritating bugs in the core platform.

By the time I get home, work is a distant memory. Even though I work with some of my best friends, I like to keep my work and my personal life compartmentalized.

I work from home a lot, and I freelance a bit

whenever I feel like it - wake up (usually around 8-8:30)
check email, see what needs to be done for the day
IM coworkers to talk about upcoming tasks, see when they're going in to the office
have breakfast/coffee, bullshit on the internet, take a shower
drive to the office (usually between 10-11)
work on shit
lunch
come back and continue working on shit until 6ish
drive home
eat dinner, bullshit on the internet
work on shit until 11 at least, more likely 1AM, sometimes 3AM
sleep

While there are certainly days I am at my desk doing calculations or writing a report most of the day, a lot of the time I am in meetings with the client or out talking to people in other disciplines to clarify/coordinate stuff etc.

Fairly frequently I am actually coming back to my desk to read a book and get a break over lunch as opposed to sitting there all morning and then continuing to sit there.

Depends on the day, so I'll just do today:

0530 - wake up to give a friend a ride to the airport. good deed of the day done.
0555 - back to bed
0700 - sleep
0800 - sleep
0900 - sleep
1000 - sleep
1005 - get a call from crew scheduling for a sequence. Actually, a third call, but signal sucks in Puerto Rico - even though my phone is indicating 3G and 4/5 bars. So two voicemails and a phone call.
1006 - eat breakfast, watch sportscenter
1100 - browse t-dub, see thread, reply to thread
1200 - take shower, get ready, etc
1330 - leave for airport, avoid shitty island drivers, park
1400 - get to crew room, sign in, check docs/messages
1425 - go to airplane, if on time, preflight in Caribbean heat, sweat, press buttons, sweat more
1455 - welp, we were supposed to be blocked out by now, but I bet the pax aren't loaded, or something is broken, or we're running on island time
1515 - positive rate, gear up - we're on the Shopper's Dash to Saint Thomas, just a hop, skip, and jump away.
1540 - arrive
1553 - supposed to leave
1600 - finally...back to San Juan
1715 - rinse repeat, but Saint Croix this time
1820 - back to San Juan
2000 - to Pointe-à-Pitre, Guadeloupe
2150 - arrive
2200 - leave for hotel
2210 - get to hotel, a little TV, sleep

Initially over the summer:

Wake up at 8am
Get to work around 9 or 9:30am, depending on buses
Small talk with boss in the same office
Read my articles/go do science in the lab
Eat lunch outside awkwardly with coworkers who speak Dutch
Finish science in lab, apply for jobs
Go home at 5pm

Midway over summer

Wake up 8am
Talk to g/f, TWW
Get to work around 10am
TWW, stare at boss, ask for work, get no work
Finish science in about an hour
Eat lunch by myself at 1pm
Apply for jobs
Go home at 5pm

End of summer (boss gone)
Wake up 9am
TWW, g/f
Get to work 11am
Apply for jobs
Lunch at my desk, cause no one was there at all
Apply for jobs
Leave at 5pm
