with Matt's consent of course.

Just post any awesome interaction with xtine that you may have had online or irl. I am posting this in chitchat so we can post bewbies and make it as nsfw as she would like it.

I will post my most embarrassing moment with her.

She and Matt had stayed overnight at our house on their way to see family, I believe. As they were heading out the door and after she had given me her awesome Apple Rosemary Jelly as a thank you gift, my daughter walks out of my room with one of my dirty thongs around her neck. Honestly, I would not want to experience that moment with any other person than her.

AND GO!!

here is a hawt picture of Selma Hayek because one of our chats was about how hawt she is.

I let her borrow my copy of The Story of O. The super excited IM she sent me after reading it was great and I told her to keep it.

One of the first times I hung out with her we met up for coffee at GV and talked for a couple of hours. I was just amazed to find someone who I could have genuinely interesting long conversations with.

I posted this in the lounge thread, but these are some of my favorite times I spent with her

- riding in the car, blasting Trans Siberian Orchestra or the Wolfpack fight song

- annual camping trip in the Blue Ridge mtns when we'd cruise the parkway during the day and smoke Black & Milds at night

- COFFEE at Global Village

- picking out clothes together

- walking down Hillsborough St. in the snow

We celebrated our 21st birthdays (Mine is 4 days before her's) at Mitch's and she had to slide down the stairs on her butt because she was too drunk to walk down.

One year I took a stuffed Kermit the frog to the fair and we took turns taking pictures of him riding the rides, eating food and doing assorted other things. That was SUCH a fun day, I don't know who else I could be that ridiculous with and have them be just as silly as me.

the postcards were awesome.

it's rare that you actually get personal correspondence in the mail anymore... but i'll be damned if she didn't send me a postcard from everywhere she went. i often wondered if the postman ever got curious and read any of them

i still have all of them. took extra care the past few times i've moved to specifically keep track of them.

death, in general, really doesn't affect me. i've seen so much of it that i've become desensitized. but some people... yeah. they made too much of an impression on the world and affected so many other people's lives that it'd be impossible to forget them.

christine was one of those people.

you all know that, though.

once when we were at begonias' exercise class, we had to drag a towel across the floor by our feet or knees (in plank position).... in the middle our sweat fest she just started cracking up and said, "I feel like a walrus"

we all were cracking up ... not out of meanness, but probably because me, Christine, and Laurie were all delirious from Linda's beatings.. I love that she wasn't afraid to make fun of herself

I can't even remember if I told her good job that day... I hope I did, because she had a fighting spirit for sho

My husband has a memory of her that I can't seem to recall.

In 2005 we (Mu Beta Psi spearheading & pulling in a few other groups to help out) organized a drag competition for charity. My husband remembers seeing her & talking to her there. And its sounds like something she'd be into, she's never been shy about things relating to sexuality, and she seemed into charities too. (I think they did ones in subsequent years too, I can't recall exactly, but the various charities were for a scholarship, music related, lgbt related, and the Susan G. Komen for The Cure - one Christine specifically supported)

But for the life of me I can't remember seeing/talking to her there. Although we only met maybe 3 or 4 times back in undergrad, we've kept in touch through pm & facebook some throughout years. That may have been the last time I ever saw & talked to her in person. Maybe I can dig through some old photos, see if I can hopefully find one that will spark that memory.

I gave her some free burlesque tickets once and she came and picked them up. We talked only for a short time, but I could tell she was a genuinely nice person. She tried to give me an NCSU car flag too, but we could never work our schedules out to meet up. I wish our paths had crossed again before she passed.

Fuck. Yes, just looked up to see her Wyoming postcard on the fridge.

Christine was so awesome. Crazy long coffee dates at GV, drunken nights ending in her titties all over the place, Ice LOL, singing along to the opener of The Big Bang Theory.

Le sigh.

We all know that Christine was not often bothered by little things like "social norms" and I think this story shows it! warning : words

I had told her about this guy Chet that we stayed with on the Appalachian Trail in NH. He was in a wheelchair because a camping stove had blown up on him. He had a settlement from the company and used it to open a hostel. He also had a giant jar of pot that he would share with deserving hikers.

Anyway, Christine came with me to my swearing in for the Navy (she took pictures) and we were talking to my recruiter a bit. Christine said, "Tell her about Chet!!!" So I talked about the hostel and how cool Chet was. She kept interrupting because I wasn't telling the story right. I said, "OK Christine, YOU tell the story." She got frustrated and said, "whatever."

Well, later I asked her about it and turns out she wanted to hear about the jar of pot! She wanted me to tell a giant jar of pot story to my Navy recruiter, when I'd just signed a statement that I don't do drugs. (I don't, but that story doesn't exactly help my case)

it's just the type of thing she would always do

Thank you all again for the good thoughts and comments.

When she was happy, she was happy. Just came across this picture, I had almost forgotten about that trip. I had first went out to visit her in Colorado around the 4th of July for the first time. It was also my first time up on Trail Ridge Road, she showed off the wonderful land that was her now backyard. We took it through the park, stopping at several overlooks on the tundra over the treeline, 2 miles up. One of the overlooks was known for being very windy, and with Christine's vanity for her hair, she loved it blowing in the wind. The weekend was far too short, but we had a great time.

holy crap - how have I not seen this yet?

I met xtine with Dennis over at the Sprint store. Only 2 TWW'ers I have ever knowingly met. We chatted about her various jobs and future move out to Colorado. She was just an awesome person.

Sorry to hear about the loss to the community and to z.

she said some things to me, that from her - such an honest non bullshit person, made me tear up. now they make me tear up even more because its just so fantastic to get a compliment from someone who tells it like it is.

i went back through some of our pms today at work. i can't go into my inbox without seeing a stream of ambrosia. some of them are hilarious pictures of dicks and boobs. some of them are serious conversations that lasted through multiple PMs. sometimes there is a mixture of dicks and boobs in the midst of serious conversations.

and i loved when conversations ended with..."i can't feel my face"

haha...classic.

^ related to that...

(Nerdchick can correct any part of this story I don't tell right)
She and I went camping with Nerdchick and TheBullDoza in the NC mountains a couple years ago. We were sitting around the campfire talking and having a blast when Christine let out a burp that had us all laughing. Then the campsite to our side (through trees so we couldn't really see them) laughed and sent a burp back. I forget which side spoke first, but it turned into a burping contest with a few volleys from both sides.

At one point the other campsite said something to us, to which Nerdchick replied "You haven't seen anything from her, she's just warming up" (or something to that affect). I'll never forget their reaction when one of them yells over "DID YOU SAY SHE?!?". We went over there and had a good jolly time, getting the campsite host to tell us to be quiet at least a time or two.

I don't think I've heard anyone who can burp as well as her, especially on demand

I didn't know her in real life, and we sometimes disagreed about things, but I always appreciated her sharing funny or otherwise remarkable things she found on craigslist... and her love for life's simple pleasures, like cheese and heiney.

I enjoyed our coffee times at Global Village. It was the place she always wanted to meet for coffee. She def has a heart to support the little guy, through small business and charities. I love that so much. Takes part of my heart for sure!

I remember the first time she met Maya, she treated her just like everyone else and loudly burped right in her face. She saw her as a person to be treated equal. But seriously, I loved her want for equality for all humans.

one was when Matt, Christine, Britta and I went camping. We went into Asheville one day and walked around some art stores. Christine was farting up a storm and laughing uncontrollably at the unsuspecting patchouli wearing fuckers that were about to get their nostrils burnt. I chimed in when I could but was no match.

ambrosia, another wolfwebber (can't remember who), and I carpooled to try to give blood during Hurricane Katrina. Never met her before, and as soon as she gets in my car she says, "One of you guys smells bad." It was such an out of the blue, blunt comment that I laughed out loud.

And, of course, her sitting in the shade with a camera, guarding TGD's campaign signs, thereby starting off a shitstorm of hilariously epic proportions.
