Now that Cracker Barrel has ended their promotion, where can I get Texas-style beef brisket?

No eastern style, lexington style, etc. Please help a man who wants to control the cow population (over 950 million living in the US and growing!)

I've never had good brisket in Raleigh, mostly because I've only ever ordered it like twice--I can never resist the pork.

red hot and blue has it. it's ok i guess.

i think dickey's bbq might have it, but i've never tried that place.

[Edited on August 10, 2011 at 7:13 PM. Reason : but hell if you liked it at cracker barrel either one will be fine for you i'd imagine]

Dickey's right in the Cary Crossroads area is by far the best in the area!

I also can vouch for Smokey's.

I dunno how close that is though...you should be able to get beef brisket all over.

That joint bbq on Hillsborough across from the library way back in 2001 or so had a decent one. Shit was kinda pricey though.

I've always wondered about this place. It's always closed when I drive by.

Dickey's on Davie St is decent for around here. Never been very impressed with Q Shack or Red, Hot, and Blah. There used to be a place 10 years or so ago above Starbucks on Hillsborough St. (the cursed restaurant location) that was very good. I think it was called Blue Moon.

There was a Q-shack across from the library (across Horne St from the Starbucks)...but that wasn't 2001, more like 05-06. Where was that Texas BBQ place in 2001?

You can get a good look at a Tbone steak by sticking your head up a cow's ass, but I'd rather take the butcher's word for it.
