The episode will be about my niece Heather and her boyfriend picking out their first home together.

http://www.hgtv.com/house-hunters/young-pennsylvania-couple-is-taking-some-big-steps/index.html

Also, if someone could remind me to watch too, I usually forget and miss these things

I do not recommend buying a home with someone who is just a boyfriend/girlfriend.

That needs to go in one persons name or the other. If one wants out of it later its gonna be hell and it will have to be refinanced or sold.

(they can add the other spouse to the deed once they get married if they want)

I like House Hunters, and they've had a few local episodes recently. Where will this one be?

^^yeah, I'm caught up with having to deal with that between me and my ex but we were engaged

but to each their own, some people don't marry at all and each relationship is different

^Pennsylvania, Heather currently lives where I grew up in the Hatboro-Horsham area so I'm guessing they'll be staying around there.

Dont know about how recent it is, but there is an episode of a couple that were living in the hudson building downtown and looking to move into a house with more space for their dog and kid.

There was an Apex episode, and a Holly Springs episode, and a Cary episode within the past month. Haven't seen anything in Raleigh in a while but they played the "Raleigh sleeping community" episodes back to back on weekend.

Doesn't Hulu Plus have HGTV?? Pretty cheap subscription compared to cable...then you get to watch all the HH and HHI you want!

i've had Hulu Plus for over a year and have never seen HGTV on it. unless it's on the website version, which is possible - normally i just watch through the xbox.

my fiance got into the international one for a while - mostly because he caught 1 episode where this Canadian teacher was taking a job in Abu Dhabi and my fiance used to live there when he was younger.

when we bought our house last year our realtor asked us if we wanted to be on house hunters. Apparently someone at HGTV contacted her office while we were looking.

My brother was 18 when his girlfriend got preggers, so my niece is just a year or two younger than me, she and my sister are just a few months apart.

This show would be better if they did like an...wait no, there's no way to make this show good. Maybe they could bring back Suzanne Wong because you never know.

It was off Leesville Road. Only reason I know that is I drive by that place all the time when visiting my parents.

I'm glad I don't have nieces or nephews that are old enough to be buying houses

I need to DVR this show just for this episode. I saw one that was in Greensboro and they weren't hoarding any one thing but it was all trash. I guess we need a hoarders thread if there isn't one already...I'm just to lazy to use the search feature.

Property Virgins is way better than House Hunters, FYI.

Well, when Sandra Rinomato was still on there.

So have they told you how they film it?

I'm sure I could find something if I google it, but that website is just too far away

I always assumed the people have already picked out or even bought the house already and then the show just takes them to two other random houses to fill in the rest of the show. At least I hope thats how it works. I wouldn't like the idea of having to pick from just a few houses

^ Yes that's how they do it. If you pay attention you'll notice they always "choose" the house that's unfurnished.

Agreed. I don't like the new woman very much. I think her name is Egypt. I got addicted to HGTV last summer though. I live for the day I see Ahmed Hassan in a Lowes or something.

"After 130 episodes and 10 seasons, I have chosen to give up Property Virgins in favour of my new show called Buy Herself. We are currently in production for HGTV Canada and are scheduled to premier in March 2012. I hope that the show will get picked up for the US territory as well, since I have such devoted fans!

I am really excited about the new show as it delves into the very change that is happening around us. For the first time in history, a significant number of women are buying real estate on their own, taking charge of their financial situations, whether they have delayed marriage, decided not to marry, or belong to the stat that says 41% of marriages end in divorce. Women buying real estate is not a fad, it’s history in the making and I am very proud to be a part of it on TV.

Thanks for your loyalty and all of your incredible comments today and always!

Love to you all,
Sandra"

I don't think they do a gift on Property Virgins. They do on "My First Place" or something like that.

I don't really remember specifics. I think it was a little bit of everything. The house was disgusting from being so packed with stuff that a person couldn't even think of cleaning. Just a run-of-the-mill Hoarders episode with someone crying in the front yard over the decision to keep some old mismatched tupperware containers and junk iirc.

Those frustrate me to no end. One was a very nice woman with a $200k down payment and a $400k budget, but none of the homes were up to the standard of living with her parents. So, she just stayed with them.

Damn. That's disappointing. I loved him. I would also be up for a Room Crashers, or a House Crashers. The only Crashers show I don't really like is Bath Crashers.
