I love the tone of the trailer; it seems very different from the previous two movies, more solemn , less swagger.

The first movie was great. The second really was a pos if you think about it. I don't remember much other than the Stark Expo, Formula 1 race, and final battle scene with War Machine.

This one has a real director. And seems to actually investigate Iron Man's humanity.

Also, Ben Kingsley is the man.

Iron Man 2 kind of killed my enthusiasm for any sequel, the trailer didn't really help me generate any either. So, bad guy appropriates Iron Man tech and fights Iron Man... again.

Maybe there isn't then. Maybe that scene at 0:39 and the two flashes at 1:00-1:01 were some kind of training exercise with Rhodey... or a remote controlled suit malfunction or something.

Powers from alien rings. So maybe they aren't doing the infinity gauntlet for Avengers 2 then? It seems like it would be very similar - power from alien rings, power from alien stones that attach to glove. I guess there's only so much you can do with comic movies though.

I thought that was implying some sort of malfunction/link with the suit when Tony's not in it or even when he's unconscious. That'd also explain the summoning the glove from across the workshop.

Yeeeees, Mandarin! Villain crops up a lot of times in Iron Man history and is a major nemesis.

I wonder if they will still call him that... or if it will bring up gripes of racism or something.

That is a good point about the infinity gauntlet.. I mean, they definitely showed Thanos at the end of the Avengers movie, and.. he is all about the infinity gauntlet. The gems are definitely stronger than Mandarin's rings though.

I think the glove summoning is how this movie will treat the Iron Man Extremis armor, which he can signal to equip simply through thought process.

if you pause it between 56-57 seconds, you get a nice aerial view of the NC coast... around the oak island area.

that's where they were filming a scene with skydivers and stuff and it looks like it could be the same scene.

I felt the same way at first. The Mandarin speech was very preachy ie Baneish. The destruction of the lab mirrored a bat cave going down thing.

At the end of the day I don't think it will be that way...it's just a trailer.

Also, at the end of that same day...if it is that way...I will give zero fucks.

The ultimate stalk your ex rings. They do beg the question... how does Iron Man stand a chance in the comics when this guy has those things? In the infinity gauntlet series they at least brought the whole Marvel universe down on top of Thanos. I'm guessing the comics work the inexperience or overconfidence/pride angle?

extremis is the only one i've watched. it's not full blown animation, but it's not static images either. it was divided into six 10-15 minute parts.

My good friend has several scenes in this movie. Spent 2 days filming with Downey Jr. Said he was a class act and pretty much directed every scene he was in.

I look forward to seeing this, and Iron Man II was pretty damn good IMO
