Also, do you fold up your clean clothes, or leave them in a hamper and pluck them out as you need them?

I use Tide with febreeze (spring & renewal) and I typically hang and/or fold up my clothes when they come out of the dryer.

We use All Free and Clear and Clorox 2 Free and Clear when needed. No dryer sheets. Everything either gets put away immediately or put in the ironing basket. Some weeks the ironing sits around forever and I have to fish clothes out of it because my husband does the ironing and he has way more clothes than me.

Persil

Shirt and trousers take them out of dryer just before they are dry and hang, so no need to iron.

All others fold and put away.

Gain is preferred but sometimes All.

I try to always put my clothes away but often I end up doing the pluck method. I am trying to work on this.

All Free & Clear or whatever that kind is called. I used to use scented kinds, but I seem to have developed a sensitivity to some detergent scents, so I only use the plain kinds now.

I usually take them out of the dryer, fold all the T-shirts and other foldable things and lay out anything that needs to go on a hanger on the bed. Then I go to get the hangers and one of my cats is adorably sleeping on everything already, so I decide to come back and put it away later. About 1/3 of the time, I end up not doing that by the time I am ready to go to sleep and end up moving the stuff over onto the dresser or floor. I'm trying to get better about that.

Tide cold water for lights, Woolite Dark for darks

Everything is hung on clothes rack/line to dry and then folded or hung on hangers in the closet. Socks, towels, sheets and some misc items go in the dryer. Socks are matched and double balled.

When I'm broke, it's Sun or some off-brand.

When I have a lil' $$ and coupons, I'll get Gain (tropical scent or spring renewal scent) maybe with Febreeze.

I USUALLY get Arm & Hammer with Oxy Clean. It's amazingggggggggg. Makes your clothes smell good and it's not that expensive. Best average detergent by far.

We are trying to get away from detergents as they really abuse the animals its derived from. Ive been working on a color safe alternative and am pretty happy with the results. feel free to tweak it to your own liking:

2 ¾ parts stone and gravel aggregate
2 ½ parts sand
1 part portland cement

I got some fancy samples from the hippie baby store that I've fallen in love with. Rockin' Green. Bare Naked Baby scent.

Gain, original scent. If it's not on sale and I'm feeling parsimonious sometimes I'll get the target store brand (Up & Up) but not usually. Dryer sheets are whatever is on sale.

I used to do the "leave in hamper" method before I was married, but now the wife insists on things being folded/hung/put away. Which is truthfully the way responsible adults should do things, so that's good I suppose.

I despise ironing though, and half the time my shirts are already wrinkled by the time I fold them (thanks, shitty dryer and trip from the laundry room back up to my apartment). So I have the "presentable" half of the closet and the "clean but wrinkled" half. Lately the "clean but wrinkled" half is taking over--there are shirts in there I haven't worn in many months. Perhaps I need to a)do some damn ironing and b)go through and get rid of stuff I never wear.

[Edited on January 16, 2014 at 9:55 AM. Reason : shared laundry duties, it's not all on me or her. so that's fair.]

Woolite and Woolite dark

I fold/hang them as I pull out of the dryer to avoid wrinkles (I hate ironing) and put them away immediately.
