Interested to see where the Roy/Nate coaching dynamic goes next. It was obvious that Nate was not happy to see Roy walk to the dugout.

But I think this is one of the best series on right now.

it’s incredibly watchable, and just so pleasant. The Christmas episode was a fantastic standalone ep, worthy of a rewatch around actual Christmas time

I love this show. Great mix of English self deprecating humor and American optimism. So many quick random references to stuff too. One thing that kind of interests me is that so much of the cast is English but they use American words for a lot of stuff. Clearly American script writers, but who cares, not a big deal.

I really hope Dr Fieldstone isn't leaving the show, I think she brought a good dynamic and the actress was really good in that role.

I have thought the football (soccer) talk has been somewhat realistic until this week. I am sorry I have a hard time believing a Ghanian Tech Oligarch really thinks he can buy a Morroccon club and turn it into the same thing as some European Giants. I mean Club America, Boca Juniors, and River Plate are well known but even they don't move the meter like the European clubs.

That brings me to Nate, his character has had an interesting arc, especially this season. I am sure its not coincedental that his hair has been getting grayer as the season progresses. They are setting him up to be the antagonist next season.

Predictions for finale this week
Roy and Keely break up
Nate is Fired
Richmond get promoted (News broke that they can use Premier League Teams and Stadiums, and players in Season 3 winning Emmy's has privleges)
Rebecca's Ex buys another Club and hires Nate.
Dr Fieldstone Returns to help Ted cope with the bad press on his panic attack
Rebecca and Sam get back together and go public.
Coach Beard gets engaged

^pretty interesting takes. I agree with most of them. It will be interesting to see how they turn Nate into the antagonist. I just don't see him immediately jumping into a managerial role for a PL rival.

I know it's part of the schtick, but I kind of hope they turn down Ted's goof level next season. The subject matter has been more serious this season while they've turned Ted into a Cartoon.

I am predicting that the season will end with Ted vs Nate in a game to determine who stays up. I will not be able to take West Ham and Richmond contesting for the title.

I could also see Nate getting sacked early in season and coming crawling back to Ted begging for forgivness.

^ It's probably going to be something like Nate's team stomping Ted's team, then the crowd still cheering for Ted's team because they have such good sportmanship.

I don't think they'll drag the showdown out all season either, doesn't seem like the style to me

Nate's newfound obsession with his own status or ability as a coach was interesting to watch. Essentially, when Nate felt like Ted was no longer reinforcing his recently gained self-esteem, putting it at risk, Nate turned to the internet and others, which fueled his esteem and also his anger at Ted for not doing the same and abandoning him.

I've seen character's 180º before, but Nate's over 12 episodes was done quickly without feeling aggressive or too unbelievable.

That component of this season is enough in itself to warrant a rewatch.

Just finished season 2 last night. It was great.

I remember watching the initial clips they released of Ted Lasso and was surprised when I heard they were going to be able to turn that into an entire series. I thought they used up all the jokes about an oblivious American coach taking over an English soccer team in the short clips. But holy cow, the comedy in the show is secondary. I never would have guessed that this show would bring me to tears but it's happened multiple times. Feel good tears

So is Nate gaslighting Ted, unintentionally or not, bc his own narcissm combined with self hate has posioned his brain, or is there truth to his frustrations about being ignored? I feel like I need to go back and watch both seasons but only scenes with both of them, my current assumption is 99% the former.

^ I don't think so, she was looking at in vitro and I think she will be unable to carry a child. Honestly I thnk Sassy will die and Rebecca will get custody of Nora.

I think what happens to end the story because I do believe despite all the success this will be the last season of Ted Lasso (maybe not the end of the AFC Richmond story)

Richmond and West Ham are tied on points to end the season, whoever wins the last game wins the Premeir League title. West Ham play some team that is already relegated, probably Leeds or Burnley. Richmond have to play Manchester City. Richmond win thanks to a Jamey Tart brace and West Ham lose. Richmond wins the title.

Afterwards Ted quits to return to Oklahoma, but not before he picks his successor, Nate (who gets fired by Rupert).

Then you have the potential for another season with Sudekis either in a very limited role or relegated to cameos and the rest of the cast continuing on the story of AFC Richmond.

Yeah, awful might be too strong of a word, but the quality has taken a sharp dive. There are too many plots that I simply don't care about and the ones I do get relegated to like 1-2 minutes of screen time in an hour long episode.

-So I guess to talk about one aspect of story I don’t care for, but like more than keely nudes leaked angle, I think the guy thats been kinda acting like the boss of the team doesn’t care what he saw on homeboys phone, and when/if others find out, he will be like “I’m gun kick ya ass” in my best accent of his.
-Roy asking who video was for was kind of icky.
-Good for nate but damn must just seem so helpless she gotta tap that
-My Rebecca is pregnant was way off lol. I at least hopes she gets back with cabin boat dude at some point, or perhaps the writing is that bad
-not really caring about the “exwife/new stepfather” aspect of the story
-I am ready for that other dude thats best other than zava to “realize his potential”
-didn’t care for the restaurant destroyed angle either

Just some thoughts, to keep this thread going.

The episode before(in Amsterdam) was probably one of my favorite episodes

^ The whole thing going on with Keely and Jack is yawn. The stuff with Keely at her company interacting with Shandy and Barb was good though. Nate and Jade are yawn too. She went from not knowing who he is or caring at all to even give him the time of day (despite him being a regular customer there for years) to being his girlfriend in like a week.

Since StTexan already place the spoilers warning.

This season as a whole has been disappointing. There are way too many subplots that are just killing what made the show entertaining.

Keeley and Jack subplot is wasting way to much screen time, and the whole subplot of Bantr feels out of place. She has no real ties to the club anymore and yet I am willing to bet she has had the 2nd most screentime behind Ted.

Political themes are getting a little more prevalent after last seasons kit sponsorship protest, and should have known when Henry made that comment to the Airline worker about American Politics that this season was going to be more overtly political.

That said this last episode was abysmal and I am not sure where they are going, its obvious Jack and Keeley relationship is going to end, they are laying the groundwork for her to get back with Jamey instead of Roy.

Outside of that, what was the purpose of that episode? The only thing I can think is that the finale Ted leaves to go back to Kansas to try to be more present in Henry's life, and either Roy or Nate become coach of AFC Richmond.
