I'm a 4X sub-hour finisher including the full dozen consumed on site at the store according to original challenge rules at the KKC. The first time as a student and then three times after graduating. I have nothing left to prove in that event.

bellrabbit with the all-time fastest winning mark back in 2007 -- a blistering 24 minutes 31 seconds. Hot damn, son!

^^^They created a bunch of watered down participant trophy registration categories. I'm just meaning to clarify that I didn't merely show up, walk with a stroller to the store, collect a dozen donuts and walk back for a fun social event. I ran there, pounded them down, and then ran back, completing the task in less than an hour 4 out of 4 times attempted. That's the "Challenge" of the KKC.

^To some degree it's simply based on the honor system, but in the early days before it go so big and when it was purely challengers, you had to show your empty box to event staff and get your race number checked off or something. Technically, you aren't supposed to throw up while eating or on the way back either. I'm not trying to knock a charity event, but just being there isn't the same as completing the challenge. This is like fat people walk-jogging a marathon distance in 6-7 hours and then telling people they ran a marathon. No, you didn't.

bellrabbit is a great runner and a good eater. He solidly beat Division I varsity track and cross-country runners on the day. Maybe he will grace us with his presence and explain from a first-person perspective. He's still around here periodically.

I ran the KKC on one or two occasions. My main complaint is the February event schedule. My lungs didn't like inhaling cold air the whole time. Get in better shape, Kickstand! Also, don't expect the doughnuts to be Hot-N-Now. I suppose that would be a logistical nightmare to provide.
