you are right that marcus helps open the running game a little, but Andre Brown did most of that himself...

Toney Baker wasnt doing anything of the sort when he was in there.

I think Toney is still a good back, he just isnt the type of back we need with our bad OL.

Stone can make more positive plays than Jay, but he makes a lot of bad ones too...

Against a better team we're down 24-0 at one point.

to anyone who is upset we didn't lose so that chuck would get fired, ur an idiot. he isn't going anywhere anytime soon regardless of team performance. it would take 2 straight years of much worse play then we are doing now for him to ever be fired and even then he probably wouldn't.


and on a side note marcus stone sucked. brown had to have the game of his life + a great showing by our defense to barely squeak out a win against a team that could probably only beat duke out of any other of the acc teams. aside from MTSU we are in for a long rest of the season.

Can we take any positives out of the first half other than our defense probably not but in the second half we can. Stone was BAD in the first half but in the second half he became more confident and began to step up and make plays. We finally got a running game and for the second game in a row Mario Williams started to dominate the line of scrimmage those are all positives. SMU might not be FSU(and yeh we might get beat to hell by FSU next week) but they are no push over either they scored 21 on Alabama and last I checked Bama was pretty good.

I will agree that Marcus Stone sucked...in the first half...but how many times have you seen Jay Davis have a shitty first half and come back and lead us to a win? what...once??? Against Wake last year??? At least Stone didnt lose confidence and play dead the rest of the game. I also agree that this win can be credited to Andre Brown, but Stone also completed some clutch passes in the second half where if he didnt, we lose. Southern Miss was not a pushover and they would hold their own with most of the ACC, I dont know why you people refuse to believe this. MTSU might be another story though, so save it for them.

im not saying M.S. is awsome by any means. Hopefully next year we won't even have to see him on the field. best thing about the first half was the paper airplanes. One went from somewhere between the middle and the top of section 7 to the hash marks on the opposite side of the field. Someone also threw one right beside the cop in front of section 7 and the moron just stuck his hand out and let it hit it. Quite a few people were escorted out because of the airplanes. fuck the po-po. Damn go out and actually do your job, leave us the hell alone. Stones flip was also pretty good although he could have been seriously injured doing crap like that.

I dont know why I was looking...must be because I should be studying...but the press conference on USM's website from their coach was pretty interesting. The questions were really harsh...like asking about coaching strategy's and if any changes will be made. It seem like they think this was a horrible loss for them.

SMU sees it as a "bad loss" because all they saw was that we were 2-4 coming in.

I doubt they realize that:

1) The ACC is tough this year, and
2) It's stupid errors, not athleticism, that has ruined our season.

Our defense and Andre Brown ran all over them, purely because our guys were stronger.
