One playoff game doesn't rationalize Cam > Russ Wilson.

If anything the Panther Defense should get MVP since they are the ones that set-up Cam early in the game.

Cam's "Best Ball" still doesn't beat any individual season of Russ Wilson. Even if you compare Cam's 2015 stats to Russ's 2014 (the only season in which Russ had a lower passer rating then 2015 Cam), Russ still beats Cam on the ground in all categories except +4 TD's in Cam (2015) favor. Whoopdie-de-Doo

I see a gifted Pro-Bowl QB not a MVP or a first of a kind elite African-American QB or whatever he's trying to imply in that article.

Sure stats aren't everything but what is your argument and rationale that Cam is a better QB then Russ? Russ has better stats throughout his career (except Rush TD and Rush yards) and even this season "Cam's best" Russ and Cam are pretty close. Cam has Rush TD again but Russ Wilson still has better passer rating (too lazy to do a search of pass TD). Russ has more wins..... Once again stats aren't everything and wins have a lot to do with the team around the QB (hence P.Riv will never win a super bowl ring i feel )

Even in the intangibles Russ has Cam beat. Russell sells the draw like no other and makes a great field general has proven the ability to pull the team back from the deepest of holes (GB 2015 playoffs as his most profound example) and even on a play-by-play to be able to escape turning nothing into something (Viking 55 yd pass to the red zone after the botched snap in 2016 wild card). I've seen great Q4 comebacks even in the 2-min huddle by Cam but have not the same determination even the dimmest of situations.

I've already conceded that Cam is in the raw a better athlete. I just don't fathom how one could argue aside from this season that Cam is the better QB.

Like I said before, the link you posted to the blog used cherry picked stats.

Russell is a great QB, don't get me wrong. I think the RW vs Cam rivalry will include multiple playoff games in years to come.

Cam leads the league in TDs per passing attempt. He completes a higher percentage of 3rd down pass attempts for 1st down conversions than Wilson. That means he's been more clutch at moving the chains and preserving drives. And you can't just ignore Cam's rushing. He rushed for 10 TDs this year. That's 1 less than Adrian Peterson, the NFL rushing leader.

People want to only focus on certain stats when bashing Cam because they want to use prototype passer QB stats when he's revolutionizing the QB position.

That is what I don't get...

How is he revolutionizing the QB position? By plowing over would be sackers instead of doing a spin move before running down field or passing from outside of the pocket? By being a not just a mobile QB but hybrid-power running back?

Ok the rushing TD is impressive but not catch-all. Perhaps the 2015 efficiency piece is the puzzle piece i'm missing.

Honestly on a side note surprised the lead RB TDs is only 11. Guess i figured most star RB's average at least one a game (although a lot of times are using dual RBs these days)

there you go, buddy. that is a big part of how he's "revolutionizing" the position. although, i don't really think he's revolutionizing the position. because that implies that what he's capable of doing can be replicated by many others. and there aren't many human beings with his size and skill set. he's the panthers best goalline threat. the panthers best short yardage back. not many "mobile" QBs are that for their team. as shifty and as mobile as RW is, you don't give him the sneak on 4th and 2.

another thing worth pointing out is that Cam has had a consistently lesser supporting cast than SEA/RW. Marshawn Lynch, Golden Tate, Doug Baldwin...those guys would all instantly be the #1 rushing/receiving threat for CAR. Cam's doing this with Ted Ginn and Philly Brown this year. that's pretty unbelievable. and until this season, SEA has had the superior OL.

you said RW sells the draw so well...Cam sells the read option play very well and he is why the Panthers run game is so successful this year. Cam, while he can just stiff arm clowns, also has a finesse side to his run game that shows throw in the read option plays.
