also, anyone remember that Superchunk/Arcade Fire free concert for Obama in '08? what a letdown that guy turned out the be, but cool show, especially when Win Butler went running through the middle of the crowd.

Anyone ever seen the Radio Dept? I see their coming to Raleigh in February and may make the two hour trek.

I think I may make the last minute decision to drive to ACL this weekend. Mainly for Radiohead, Kendrick, and LCD Soundsystem.

Then next weekend in Dallas I'll get Schoolboy Q, Conor Oberst, Deerhunter, Russian Circles on consecutive nights. Bye bye budgets for October.

I started listening to Radio Dept. after Pet Grief[\i] was released. Their double compilation album [i]Passive Aggressive is a great listen if anyone is interested in the band. Wiki says they are "dream pop" which sounds appropriate. Not sure if they toured the triangle before; may have just missed them because of another show. Just curious if they are any good live.

Also, ACL was fun. The lineup as a whole wasn't very strong, but my top performances were:

Went on both sites and haven't heard of anyone but was going to check out GSO at Slim's tomorrow night

I like indie rock, electronic, folk/Americana, etc. so like Rainbow Kitten Surprise, LCD Soundsystem, and Mandolin Orange (who I just missed apparently), respectively.

Saw deafheaven for the 5th time Friday night. That was my favorite set (setlist, performance, mix) next to the King's Barcade show in 2013 that they'll never top for me.

Also, i'm still in shock. At the Drive In just announced a last minute secret show at a small ass venue here in Dallas as a warm up for their real tour coming up. Show sold out in an hour. I can't believe i was in the right place at the right time to get these. The announcement was today and the show is tomorrow.

thanks! I've tried to see them two other times and it didn't work out. One my own fault and another (last year) Cedric got sick and they canceled a few weeks worth of shows. I already tickets to their Dallas stop in June on the official tour, but it's at a venue that's way bigger than I'd prefer to see them.

nice. both of their sets were really good here too. But I love the venue they stopped in and the sound is always excellent. Was curious of peoples' impressions on other stops. Deafheaven especially was mixed extra well at the Dallas stop. Also, I still am not sure why the bass player was different. Not sure if he's filling in or the other guy quiet quietly or what?

At the Drive-In tore the roof off tonight too. To finally see them and have it be at a small venue with one days notice was pretty unique.

radiohead was amazing in atlanta last night. they played 3 encores. first time ever being in the pit for them and totally worth the hours of standing it took to achieve that. easily in my top 5 shows ever.

just saw them for the third time tonight in charlotte and it was amazing. they closed with a 25 minute-ish version of "nothing ever happened" that was total improv/bliss out. i loved it.
