Saturday sucked but we're still 5-1. Still have a great shot at 9-3 or 10-2. Here's our remaining schedule:

@ Syracuse
vs Florida State
vs Wake Forest
@ Louisville
@ UNC
vs ECU

I'm a pessimist by nature but I only expect 2 more losses at worst. ECU is trash, UNC and Louisville are in the bottom 5 worst P-5 teams by S&P +/-, and we have won 16 of the last 17 home games against Wake. I see Syracuse and FSU as toss ups.

Maybe it's because I expected a 2013 FSU/Clemson outcome (with 2018 Clemson playing the role of 2013 FSU) but I'm still optimistic about our schedule moving forward.

Your whole premise doesn’t even make sense. An undefeated acc champ was always going to the playoff whether it was us or clemson or anybody else. A 1 loss, non acc champ/non division champ, is certainly not going to the playoff. So talking about the playoff while we’re in the picture (obviously a long shot, but we were there) is far fetched but still a thing that is possible. After losing, it’s pretty obviously off the table. I really don’t get what your point is.

But it’s not equally as silly. At this point there’s no reasonable scenario where we make the playoff, really. Last week at this time there was a reasonable scenario for us making the playoff. Likely? No. Possible/reasonable? I’d say so. Obviously beating clemson was unlikely. But it’s 100% fair to say that after 7 weeks of the football season we were “in the playoff hunt”.

And separately but similarly, it remains weird how State fans like to gloat to other State fans about a NC State failure or shortcoming. A ton of State fans walk around with a losers mentality and that is really weird.

OK, we get it guys, let's move on. We lost to Clemson, we're not winning the Atlantic, we can still make it to 10 wins with this schedule.

So back to injuries.

Looks like we have numerous starters dealing with injuries from the Clemson game:
Prescod - not sure
Witt - in concussion protocol
Person - labrum issue he's dealt with most of the season
Louis - leg injury
Riley - not sure

Sounds like Pennix is probably going to burn his redshirt and we'll let Person rest a bit. Definitely need Prescod and Witt back as our OL has been playing great and Dino loves to blitz at Cuse. Think we'll be fine at WR even if both of those guys miss the game, but hopefully neither injury is too serious(particularly Louis who looked like he was done for the season at first).
