Everyone is going to bitch when we lose. I think way too many people are too trigger happy on the FIRE (INSERT NAME HERE) bandwagon, but I guess that happens everywhere. The thing everyone has to remember is to be patient... if it happens it wont be overnight. I think you're the pessimistic type. Me, I guess I just see a lot of positives. A lot of negatives also, but to call for someone's head with the potential this team has is pretty ridiculous if you ask me.

You can't blame it on Jay Davis? So if we had...say....Marcus Hagans (Capable, but no world beater) at QB you think we'd be half as bad this year? Personally... I think we could have won every game except Clemson (And Clemson isn't even that good...but the score indicated otherwise...we just fell apart).

I'm not too big on if's, and's, and buts.... but be realistic. Our problems are solely on lack of QB production. Yes, it's Amato's fault for not finding a capable QB.... but if that's the only problem we have... we're a lot better off than a lot of teams. We're a lot closer to being a really really good team than a shitload of other teams in the nation, and I think a lot closer than many of you give the team credit for.

If you look at time of possession for Jay's games, then look at it for Stone's games, you'll see the discrepancy. I wish I had an easy way to show you this.

1) They're always on the field. Always. We cannot move the ball...at all....therefore..... the defense is ALWAYS on the field. Always on the field = tired.

2) The team has given up on the offense. Why bust your ass when it's a lost cause? Team morale was shot becuase we could not move the ball. Losing sucks... we lose because our QB's are horrible.... defense half-asses it because the swagger is gone and mentally we're completely down on each other. It's offense vs. defense.... and the team just would not play for Jay Davis. He simply lost thier respect/support/whateveryouwanttocallit.

Blame it on a Qb. He did not contribute to our win tonight. Just b/c he had no TO's, thats not why we won the freggin game. Hell, he hardly passed the ball. Got sacked a bunch of times, and completed a small portion of passes. we won b/c of the running game;plain and simple. so, in other words it wasnt our qb.

what if, brown was in the game while davis was at qb???huh??? and he opened up the run for j davis??? we prolly would have got the same outcome. so stop this qb talk. davis is a better passer than stone. stone cant throw to save his life.

looking at our losses... I see 4 pts, 7 pts, and 8 pts' differential... then that ugly scar vs Clemson.

We had leads against VT, UNC, and WF... Clumpson had our number from the beginning.

The offense did very little to sustain the leads it gained in the other three games, and the defense simply couldn't hold on long enough. Part of that is to blame on the defense, but a much larger proportion of the blame must go to the offense for putting the defense on its heels so often.

I blame Jay a little bit, I blame penalties a little bit, I blame shaky RB play a little bit, I blame dropped passes a little bit. The penalties weren't a problem today, Andre was awesome, and the dropped passes weren't nearly as crucial in this game as they were agianst, say VTech. Jay's not in the game anymore and I can immediately see that two problems have gone away.

You did not just say Davis is a better passer than Stone... Davis floats passes that are easily intercepted... I don't need to show evidence of that, him no longer playing speaks for itself...

Exactly my point! Hey, we're making progress.

Our QB's suck. It's a testament to how good we could actually be that we beat the #9 team in the country with horrendous QB play and just running the ball and playing defense. We're a good team.... imagine if we had a good QB behind center... we'd be a very very tough team to beat.

We somehow won with a shitty QB vs. a very good team. All I'm saying is that with a decent QB... we'd be a helluva team...as seen today by us winning, on the road, in the most hostile road environment in the ACC (Where no ACC team other than NC State has ever won), and somehow squeaking one out despite only passing for like 40 yards.

That should tell you alot.

I'm not bashing Jay. I think Jay is a better passer than Stone too. Stone has a much better arm, but he's too timid. Drew Weatherford is a better player than Xavier Lee...so why did legendary Bobby Bowden put Lee in? To give the team a spark.

The team obviously had lost faith in Jay. Stone is terrible, but we're 2-0. We're playing with more fire with Stone under center...leave him in. Davis may have won today.... who knows.... but all i know is that we're playing with a lot more fire thus far under Stone. That's blatantly obvious

If Davis had been in this game he would have throw atleast 1 Int if not 2 like he always does. Also he would have been sacked about 10 times more than stone. Did you not see hw many sacks marcus avoided in the backfield? In the first half there was a florida st. player bearing down on him as soon as he dropped back every other play.

Stone is not a great QB and hes not a better passer than Davis, He also may not win any games for us. But he also dosen't lose games for us and thats all I ask of a QB at this point.

well, my freshman year (03-04basketball season), we TP'd the tri-towers after we came back from 19 down to Wake. After that game, they put in those mother fucking plastic cases for the TP and started locking the utility closets...and using huge tp rolls. you could hear people screaming for hours running back and forth between dorms with horns honking and "N..C..STATE...NC STATE...N...C...STATE...NC STATE" being yelled every 4 minutes.

Yeah, maybe not. But one TO could have lost that game for us. The TOs lost the game for FS. Sure Stone didn't do much. I'm just glad Davis didn't give FS the chance to get massive quantities of TOs. The group I was with was even on the edge of their seat with the final knee down to run the last few seconds off the clock.
