Don't love it, but hard to pass up a Westbrook especially with an aging CP3. Both Russ and Harden are so so ball dominant, but dantoni made Paul and Harden work, hopefully he can work some magic here 7/11/2019 8:55:12 PM |

That GM that turned two players who couldn't get that team to be a real competitor in the west into like 8 billion first round picks? 7/12/2019 5:55:47 AM |
LudaChris All American 7946 Posts user info edit post |
Eh, he took a consistent playoff contender and flipped their 2 all-star players with multiple years left for a bevy of 1st round picks.
This is right as the NBA seems to all be agreeing that 1st round pick value in terms of assets isn't nearly as high as they were once considered. Even with 8 1st round picks I'm not convinced they'll turn those into even 2 stars.
But at the same time, OKC was due to pay an insane amount of luxury tax this year so guess they got tired of dumping more and more money into it as repeat offenders when they knew they didn't have a shot to win the title. 7/12/2019 7:21:16 AM |

They also got Shai Gilgeous-Alexander in the George deal and he's going to be very good (oh look, another pick the hornets fucked up.). IMO he was the biggest piece of that trade going back to OKC. 7/15/2019 3:37:58 PM |

So..the knicks offseason wasn’t good. And I understand that they’re an easy target. But they missed out on a top 2 pick, which was outta their control. And KD went to the Nets, which isn’t necessarily outta their control...but not something you can pin the blame on the Knicks for. And I guess they missed on Kyrie...but again, should we blame the Knicks for it? I dunno. Seems kinda crazy to say that their offseason, some of which was outta their control, was the “worst move of the offseason”. 7/24/2019 3:59:14 PM |
TreeTwista10 minisoldr 148438 Posts user info edit post |
the whole reason the Knicks shipped away Porzingis the previous year was to have the salary cap room to sign some max players during this offseason. They came away with Marcus Morris? 7/24/2019 5:03:46 PM |
justinh524 Sprots Talk Mod 27831 Posts user info edit post |
The Knicks missed on KD/Kyrie, but instead of freaking out and throwing max money at lesser talented players they kept their salary flexibility for the future. Honestly they did the best they could have once Kyrie picked the Nets.
The Hornets easily had the worst offseason. Lose the best player in franchise history and give his replacement a terrible contract! 7/24/2019 7:34:08 PM |

Quote : | "Forget the New York Knicks, the Charlotte Hornets are the biggest mess in the NBA.
They are one of only 6 teams in the NBA/NFL/NHL/MLB that's never made a conference finals.
They traded Shaun Livingston, Stephen Jackson and the pick that would become Tobias Harris for the right to draft Bismack Biyombo in 2011.
They used the 2nd pick of the 2012 draft to select Michael Kidd-Gilchrist instead of Bradley Beal. They selected Jeffery Taylor with their 2nd round pick in 2012, just ahead of Draymond Green and Khris Middleton.
They were offered three first-round picks by the Boston Celtics for the 9th pick in 2015, but Michael Jordan rejected the deal and used the pick to draft Frank Kaminsky.
They were seriously considering drafting Pascal Siakam in 2016, but decided to trade their pick for Marco belinelli instead.
A year later they traded Belinelli for Dwight Howard.
Former head coach Steve Clifford wanted the Hornets to draft Donovan Mitchell in 2017, but Hornets management overruled him and drafted Malik Monk instead.
They finally made the right choice when they drafted Kemba Walker, but this summer they severely lowballed him in an attempt to save money, and yet had no problem paying Terry Rozier close to $20 million per year.
The second-best draft pick they have made since the franchise’s rebirth in 2004 is Emeka Okafor. They are somehow capped out despite arguably having the worst team in the league.
Next season they will owe Nicolas Batum, Bismack Biyomb, Marvin Williams, Cody Zeller and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist a combined $85 million.
Now THIS is the worst franchise in the league." |

None of that is wrong, wherever it came from. The Hornets are a fucking travesty. There is no feasible path to relevancy within five years, and they'll likely be a dumpster fire for as long as they exist. 7/25/2019 9:41:12 AM |

What if Lebron joined Lakers earlier in 2010 at his Decision I? Took his talent to LA instead of South Beach? He could have won 4 to 5 championships with Kobe and Gasol already and taken over the franchise a few years sooner b/c Kobe was a veteran at that time already. If so, Howard doesn't have to leave and Wade may go to join him. Anyway, it's already history. 9/3/2019 4:24:08 PM |
