Markell was the only thing that kept us in the game. Beverly hit more shots than he has been lately. Bryce and Hellems were awful. Daniels was bad until about 10 minutes to go when he made a few plays. Biggest takeaway is not good when your senior guard and 5th year senior Bryce hand it to the other team and then with 7 seconds left the senior guard turns it over again. Oh no, we suck again.

If we just accept that we're a bubble team this year, that loss isnt a huge deal long run. Just means we really need to beat a Louisville/FSU/Duke, maybe two of them, but that was always the case

We are a bubble team with that loss. I know that the recent injuries to Bates and PJ have definitely hurt us in terms of depth and, in particular regarding Bates, front court depth, but the trio of DJ, CJ, and MJ have been playing remarkably well this season. I was thinking that a top 4 finish was within reach.

It may not be that bad of a loss for our ncaa hopes, but IMO it's a worse loss from a fan standpoint. At home they had a full team and we were missing 2 of our top 3. Away, they didnt have devoe and we had our best 5. Banks was also kinda a non factor except as a threat on D. Alvarado basically beat us by himself.

Regardless I'd argue Devoe is more important to them then Bates is to us, but at best it's a wash. And it's easily a better scenario then the first game.
