This jacket is bad as shit. However, prior to the flame fest, I know I need one that is more protective. Anyone have any leads on a good one for cheap?

Norf Cacalacki was representing on soviet TV yesterday. Some British clown was riding on a rented chopper down east coast.. i watched him go from Richmond to Raleigh, stop by the NC rest area on 95, then hang out in the Rush Hour parking lot, ride down Tryon Rd, and ride down what looked like 40 or 440 along with Norf Rawleigh ex-BP crotch rocket crowd doing a few weak sauce weelies. then he proceeded to SC.
all of this in russian translation. it was good times yo

yes, it's awesome.

i tore a gsx-r in half there, though. also, i've heard it's crawling with cops nowadays. there are tons of other good roads around there, though.

It was awesome because I heard someone rev their bike to what was probably at least 6-7 k. I didn't think much of it then CRASH! I guess some douche thought he would impress the girl walking by and dumped the clutch. Everyone around was like, "OMG, someone should help him!." I simply lol'd.

Sport bike: Ninja 250 or 500

Cruiser: Light as possible and 500-750cc. Old viragos can be had for super cheap.

The amazing thing is that he took the time to pull out a camera and snap a few pics while it was still gushing blood.

That's the kind of dedication to an internet forum that we need around here.

in related news, what's the purpose of those 3-wheeled motorcycles? the BRP can-am spyder is kind of cool in its own right

but that's not what i'm talking about...it's the harley trikes that seem pretty stupid (to me)

are they only for old people that want to pretend that they can still ride a motorcycle? they should ge ta piaggio mp3 500

I want a BMW adventure bike. Maybe a 90s model GS.

I wouldn't mind a V-Strom 650, either, but I like the boxer BMWs, and have some brand loyalty since my granddad was a dealer.

then I could put clip-ons and a solo tail on my SV, and maybe some rearsets...or just sell it and buy another rocket.

I had a F-650GS Dakar for a couple of years. They completely overhauled the bike in 2001. The 01 and later models are much better bikes than their predecessors.

I want a DRZ400SM now. Almost bought one about a month ago. Hooked the trailer up to the 4Runner to go pick it up and the guy called me to tell me he had just sold it.

Old people, crippled people. It might not be the same as riding a 2 wheeler, but I wouldn't exactly call it "pretending" either.

Yeah, I'm sure they'll all line up at the Piaggio dealer tomorrow to get one.

The inspection on my harley expired in march 08 and my registration expired about 6 months ago (I was laid out from an injury since last spring and didn't ride at all this year). After the DMV website told me that I'd have to go in to renew I assumed that I was going to get raped by fines before I could get new stickers. On tuesday I got to the Wake Forest Rd DMV at 4:58 and ran in right before they locked the door.

The old lady told me that I had no stops to renew my registration and gave me a new plate for $23. The new registration says that I won't need an inspection until October 2010, so I'll have almost 4 years between inspections. There's no real point to this story, it's just the first good DMV experience I've ever had.

I've still got the old sticker on the fork, should I just rip that off in case I get pulled?

My bike was last inspected in the mid-80's. When I got it I was exempted until 2010 on the registration card, at which point the bike will be 35 years old and exempt.

Not that it wouldn't pass anyway. No turn signals, but they aren't required.

it's not a three-wheeled motorcycle, it's a snowmobile with wheels

Quote :

I would when able-bodied rednecks ride around on those, especially with those Harleys that have "training wheels" attached, effectively making them a four-wheeler. Of course there is exception to crippled people.

I saw several stateside. it's too european looking for the demographic riding those three-wheeled harley deals.

while on the topic, Lathareth custom shop in France has been making some sick-looking quads (and bikes) since before the whole custom bike craze swpt through the US tv channels and everyone sudenly wanted a chopper.

It wasn't all that bad, just a sign of days to come. The worst part is the air that rides up your chest and blows across your face. If I could keep the air out of my helmet, I would be much warmer in the winter.

That's why i dont read those message boards. Where are some mechanically incompetent people in The Garage, but on some of the other message boards they are mechanically-ignorant. Or even plain ignorant.

I'm done with this car!

People can't be this stupid... right?

Oh,

His question about the oil change.
Intake emblem adds HP?

...maybe they can be. Oh well, I guess this isn't the thread for that, but I think y'all will get a laugh out of it anyway.

Man, I really, really want an R1200GS. Make mine blue, with wire wheels and removable aluminum luggage, please. It has got to be the ultimate do-it-all motorcycle...the only problem is that they command pretty strong prices, even used with a ton of miles (and can be tough to find used without a TON of miles on them, although all indications are that they last forever and a day.)

Then I can ditch the ol' SV650 (though I do think it's a great bike, for what it is and what it costs) and get another rocket. Probably buy one on the cheap with a salvage title and busted plastics, then put a set of sharkskinz on there. solo tail, minimal mirrors, minimal lights, DOT-race rubber, etc...street legal, but strictly a "day-VFR only" backroad and track toy.
