Ok I put my march 1st pics in my gallery.

Feels good to be allowed to eat again. Going to bulk for next 3 months then cut the last bit of fat.

Im way too little obviously but I was a fat ass two months ago before I cut those 20 lbs. My legs and upper body leaned out a lot but haven't lost all the belly yet thats always last to go for me.

Strength loss didnt occur until the last week. That's one reason I ended the diet.

You should:

1. Learn how to use a camera.

2. Hire a coach to get better results.

Week 4 school is about to begin; so far the diet adjustment has been the worst part. For breakfast I eat an ungodly amount of eggs and some fruit because you might not get more than 50-60 grams of protein during the next two meals.

I feel bloated 24/7 and I've lost a lot of definition in my core.

The good news is we actually are getting into the weight room once or twice a week so I can still do pull ups and some free weights.

Its quickly discarded by the poster mentioning that its still only February, so its not even close to a finished product and that he's only putting it up to placate the masses, and he's still got three months and change to get in Pauly D shape and he's busy walking 45 minutes two times a week and the fat is just melting off and since we're all fucking idiots and can't eyeball the difference between 15% body fat and 12.5, we shouldn't make comments based on silly conjecture and he doesn't really have time to talk about it now because he's in the middle of a 96 hour fast except for the 15 whiskey sours he just imbibed, and he'd love to stay and chat but he's got a pussy appointment with the hostess at Ruby Tuesday's and doesn't want to be more than 45 minutes late, plus he's gotta find time to hit up the wake for that dead girlfriend."

Pretty close to the mark.

After 2 months in to 2013, I am fairly close to my goals! Now, I just need to stay healthy, injury free and committed to a solid training program. I am fairly confident I can hit all of them before the end of the year. Ideally, able to do all of them concurrently, but that will be a challenge...

2013 Goals:
<6min Mile
500lb Dead Lift
400lb Squat
300lb Bench
200lb Press

Current Numbers:
Mile: unknown (still not confident to run on my achilles for an extended amount of time)
DL: 495lb
Squat: 390
Bench: 290
Press: 190

With the warm weather coming, I've started tweaking my diet to lean out which puts a damper on my ability to train hard frequently. I'm hoping add in running/conditioning and not lower my calories as much as I normally would to lose weight.

Body weight was down to 173 on Thursday. Down from 180lbs a month ago. Today the scale jumped up to 176. Can hopefully get down to 172ish by Friday. My goal weight by May 28th is 165lbs and shredded. (Going to France for 3 weeks )

I'll post some pics sometime soon. This weekend was no good and I had a snack attack two nights in a row.

Whatever bros. I did the math and averaging a mere 1.5 girls a week will put me in triple digits this summer. And thats with wasting thirteen of my prime years in various relationships.

Im not trying to be the best at exercising or anything. The only three things I love in life are drinking, gambling, and getting my dick sucked in that order.

Stick to your goals and ill stick to mine.

I lifted weights for two months while eating like 800 calories a day.

What kind of results were you expecting? What little muscle I have right now is basically just natural I havent started training for hypertrophy yet.

What specifically about my training regimen has been wrong so far?

nothing wrong with it, you lost weight. just mediocre results for as much effort and detail in the planning. (and as much as you hyped it)

Specifically? You probably received half of your calorie intake from alcohol. I'm willing to guess that, your sleep habits, stress levels, and lack of total calories really fucked up your testosterone levels (hence what seems to be gynecomastia).

You can't shred bone. Nor can you maximize strength/muscle gains if you are sub 12% body fat.

I would have simply lost the easy initial weight after 4 weeks of dieting. Then immediately moved in to a beginners strength training program (squatz, deadz, bench, pressing, and chin ups) and built a foundation of muscle over the next 6 months.

I know there's been anecdotal evidence that females prefer "lean dudes" over "jacked bros", but in my personal experience carrying about 5-15lbs of more muscle mass and filling out a shirt goes much farther to improve attraction than being skinny fat.

So I quit smoking in January, and I still can't breathe. I've been pretty much accustomed to not breathing for many years, but it's starting to bother me.

To improve your heart and lungs, you just do something until you're out of breath, right? Slow down a bit. Then do it some more until you're out of breath again?

Well I would say longer cardiovascular work outs might be better for your lungs than short bursts of working out until you're out of breath simply because the former occurs over a longer duration. Start walking/running/biking. Slowly your lung capacity will grow.

-not saying other exercise doesn't as you're probably breathing hard the whole time as well. Also yoga is a great way to control/develop your breathing.

If id tried to put on muscle first my p ratio would have been out of whack and I would have put on a lot of fat while getting mostly neural strength gains not muscle size. Plus the muscle wouldn't show under all the blubber.

Additionally I probably would've lost motivation and I wouldn't have cleaned up my diet.

Would I love to put on 15 lbs of muscle right now? Absolutely. But lets be realistic. You can only put on about .5 lbs of muscle a week even as a beginner. Make a few diet mistakes, miss a few workouts, suffer a minor setback injury wise and youll be lucky to add 8 lbs of muscle in 6 months . Over half of that is in your legs which girls barely even notice (cue the women trying to say they do but they dont trust me they care about the size of your quafs about as much as the size of your nutsac).

Now I can put on muscle without adding much fat , my gains will be more noticeable, my body and face look better in the meantime, and I have motivation to continue.

Im not under any pretense that I look like a greek god or anything but I look in decent shape. With the right combination of money, confidence, and charisma I can get laid. When youre fat its much more difficult, period.

I think I might have exercise-induced asthma. Tried a run the other day and I wasn't exhausted by it but couldn't breathe through all the mucus. I had an inhaler like 7 years ago and haven't had any attacks or felt short of breath since then but I haven't been extremely active either.

I think you lose to ability to defend your methods when your tits are bigger than most of the girls' who post in here.

Trying out that tip somebody posted a while back about chugging water for a few days before you hit the beach and then drastically reducing right before to get the lean look instead of the dehydrated bloat. I'll report back with results, pictures, and maybe an STD.

Congrats BridgetSPK!!!!

Have you been to a doctor about your breathing? Get checked out, I know they can do some tests to give you a baseline so after awhile as you go along you can see your breathing improve.

Exercising in the cold can make it worse so beware if its still cold where you are.

Also, keep up the great work, I wish my sister would quit. She's been battling pleurisy the past couple of weeks.

Congrats again!

Weird. Today's run felt much better, way less mucus, way easier to breathe. Probably a combination of not picking a route on busy streets and being a little further away from my cold last week.

That would an impressive ass feat. This really shows me I'm not a proportionate lifter at all (I've known, but this puts it into some perspective). Are these maxes? I sincerely hope so.

I fluctuate between 165-175. My current numbers, as of December (it's time to start cutting)...:
6:45 min mile (current...I want to be down to a 6 min mile, too). Switch between tabata running and two mile runs.
335 Dead lift
225 squat
315 bench
185 press 12x (never tried to max).

I always knew my legs were incredibly weak, but damn. I will say, my goal for about 2 years was to bench twice my weight, so I put a ton of focus on bench, which in hindsight seems ridiculously stupid.

Very solid upper body numbers!

185 x 12 on the overhead press? That is very impressive if you were strict. Especially at that body weight.

Haha, yeah, I just wish I used to spend as much on lower as I did on upper. I've been working out for more than 10 years and my squats are still awful. And it shows in my chicken legs. I've recently started doing bosu ball squats & more plyo's to hit the torso even more.

I usually keep a spotter to make sure I don't break form on press. It seems to be easier to break that than on other lifts. Although, I will say, about 2 years ago I was working out with 315 dead lifts. I was usually getting 6-8 reps. Then one day I was working out with a buddy of mine and he said I was doing 'em wrong - putting way too much pressure/strain on my back. I went home, watched some youtube videos and was amazed I hadn't killed my back. I had to start over completely going all the way back down to 135 But it was worth it in the long run.

LOL. Just saw that I said 185 press x 12. It's 155 x 12. The only thing I can figure out was I was mixing up press and military press.

Shameless plug: if you are in Raleigh, I can fix your squat and DL.... Don't waste your time on the fucking silly bosu ball.

In my nomenclature, press is a standing overhead press. Strict being from shoulders/clavicle to locked out overhead. Military is a standing overhead press with your heels touching. Seated press is explanatory.

I am not sure how you can safely have someone spot a standing overhead press.

I feel like my form on overhead press is terrible, since a lot of the time I have trouble breathing and my numbers on OHP feel very low compared to bench and other lifts.

There's the difference. I always considered a military press as always seated.

As for spotting, I usually just have someone watch my back. I tend to arch my back to get in extra reps. I could probably use a belt for that, but I've just always had some watch. And I always try to make sure that my wrists and feet stay in good position.

Full hip extension with glute lock (glutes renforcing posterior pelvic tilt) combined with abdominal bracing is how you will really strengthen your press.

Over arching is a compensation due to weak abs, and too heavy weight. When you over extend your back, it reduces the required shoulder flexion and shortens the range of motion. It also puts a lot of sheer on your lumbar, rather than compression (which it can tolerate more).

I need to start working out in the morning. Maybe the caffeine in the hypershred will wear off through the day and I can actually get some decent sleep at night.

My new favorite protein snack is a concoction of 1/2 c. low fat cottage cheese, 1TSB peanute butter, small banana sliced, and a handful of raw instant oats. Mix it up really well, and let it sit for 5 min or so, so that the oats can soften a bit. I know that sounds gross but it's pretty tasty to me.

OK, so this morning I weighed in at 185.0. Goal achieved. This is even following last week when my diet went completely to shit, but I think that evened out based on the mileage I put in at work and how much physical labor I actually did.

I think I've lost some lean mass, might be time to reduce cardio to maybe twice a week and start going heavy weight training. Anyway, long story short, that's about 15-20 pounds of weight loss since January.

RIP GIRLFRIEND!

I've been working out in the morning and I've always hated it before

the only way I keep going is to have a partner or trainer that holds me accountable

it's not so bad after a month

I only have to go 4 days a week, early

but I can say that without a partner, I'd definitely have blown off a few workouts by now

^.

I absolutely hated it at first. But then I realized I'm a lot more likely to actually do it if I don't have time to talk myself out of it throughout the day. And my energy levels are higher, so I do better in general. And it's nice to get off work and be able to go home and relax. That last bit is less relevant now, though.

I always end up getting sick when I try to work out in the mornings because I don't adjust the time I go to bed. It also probably wouldn't work that well because odds are, girlfriend would still be in bed and the bedroom shares a wall with the garage gym .

On the other hand, she'll have to start getting up super early compared to my normal time soon...
