There's not much difference between 3 and 4. Sure, you'd have to play UVA a game earlier, but give the team 2 days of rest and I'll take our chances.

Yeah the funny thing is a Carolina loss here kept our best chances of the three seed alive but made the 4 seed a lot harder

I'd rather steel myself for two losses and be excited if we win than play out positive scenarios.

Not like it matters tho. If we got the #3 seed, I'd just in my head anticipate us getting creamed in our opening game in the tourney.

^^I think what he means is the 1 seed plays a team that is guaranteed to be have only played 1 game whereas the 2-4 seeds could be playing a team that has already played 2.

But those 10-15 seeds have only won a 2nd game ONCE since this format started in 13-14, so I don't think it's any real advantage. This isn't the NCAA tourney. It's hard enough to upset a better team fully rested.

My new favorite scenario is:
We win out (obviously)
FSU beats Clemson tonight
Duke beats UNC Saturday
Syracuse beats Clemson Saturday


We end up as the 3 seed, UNC the 5 seed. We finish 3rd in ACC outright, UNC misses out on the double bye and has to go through UVA to reach the Final. Our first opponent would be ND, GT/WFU or FSU.

I like the Win Out scenario, I just want that double bye to give us a better shot at the Tournament Title. We made the title game a few times when I was at State but by that time it was always our 4th game and fatigue killed us.

Lunardi has us as a 9 seed in Nova's bracket .

If Louisville loses to UVA, NC State beats GT but loses to Louisville, Clemson loses to Syracuse, and UNC loses to Duke, there would be a 4-way tie at 11-7 between NCSU, UNC, Clemson, and the winner of VT/Miami. State, UNC, and Clemson were all 1-1 against each other, so the difference will be that VT/Miami winner.

If it's Miami, the round robin records would be:
#3 Miami 2-1
#4 Clemson 3-2
#5 NC State 2-3
#6 UNC 2-3

If it's VT, the round robin records would be:
#3 VT 3-0
#4 NC State 2-3
#5 UNC 2-3
#6 Clemson 2-3

We get preference over UNC and Clemson based on our 1-0 record vs Duke. So if VT beats Miami, we can still get a 4 seed.

Am I right?

The entire conference will have eyes on that Miami/VT game. It's going to affect just about every seed 3 through 12.

This is still one of our better teams in recent history, but Keatts' ridiculous out of conference scheduling allowed him a razor thin margin, and he's now sitting on that knife's edge.

I mean, it's his 100 g's he loses out on if we miss because he scheduled a bunch of RPI 330 teams instead of RPI 260 teams, not mine.
