search all the honda dealerships in this state.
If I could get an 05 for a little more in the dead of summer. I know you can get an 04 for 20k when it is freezing outside.
You can actually get a brand new one for around 29-31.

I'm sure you could find an unmolested mkIV n/a Supra (although it's a bit heavier) for less (around $15k). Of course it'll probably have around 100k miles. I figure it's a bit more practical and the drivetrain is pretty solid. just my 2 cents. But I do agree with ^ and everyone else on the s2k over the mr2.

i'd never try to make an MR2 that powerful...it wouldn't be as fun to me as it would be with, say, 300-350 rwhp.
if i wanted something that fast in a straight line, i'd get something like an SS454 Chevelle or something. 2/25/2008 12:43:38 AM |

I had to pay for the DMV to reissue a new title. They had to do what's called an "indemnity bond." This says that (in the unlikely event that) if the guy who has the title with my VIN on it comes to find me to reclaim the vehicle, the insurance company will pay me the current KBB of the vehicle.2/25/2008 8:28:36 AM |

dude
i've driven from raleigh to baltimore to buy my turbo miata
from NoVa to Baltimore to buy my supercharged S2000
from Raleigh to somewhere 2 hours down east to buy a YZF-600
from Pensacola (almost in Alabama) to Gainesville to buy my 330ci
went back to Gainesville a few months later to buy an Ultra 150 jet ski
and drove from Pensacola to Atlanta to buy my Evo
but there is no way in hell i'd go to NY to check out that MR2. They aren't THAT hard to find...sit back and wait for one to turn closer to you. I've walked away from WAY too many deals to go through that much trouble and expense for a car that old (the Miata was an exception--it was so far removed from stock that waiting for one closer to me wasn't as reasonable of an option...and it wasn't nearly as far, either). 2/25/2008 1:29:48 PM |

pay someone $20 on some mr2 forum to go look at the car for you.
what if you fly there and something is up.
plus people on those forums have much more knowledge about those cars. 2/25/2008 1:30:44 PM |

I think the plan was for you to follow me closely the whole way so the lack of a plate wouldn't be as noticeable (uhh, yeah...that lasted for about 15 minutes). 2/25/2008 6:02:36 PM |

DUDE seriously? seriously?
Yes the turbo kits cost the same because they'll both bolt to the same block and have the same turbo if you'd like and if you were going to run 8lbs of boost yes.. it would be similar.
but if you're going to be running anywhere near the amount of boost you would want to swap to a single turbo from the stock twins.... You'd have to build the n/a motor's bottom end =$texas. not to mention the n/a computer doesn't cope with boost as well, the map sensor isn't right etc.
Basically in the 450-650hp range which is what most people aim for. An n/a will cost you a $hit ton more. But if you go to the 700+ range where one would want to build both motors and run standalone and have a built transmission put into the car THEEEEEN you're back on the same ball field again.2/27/2008 9:07:44 AM |
