Oh, nice! Thanks! These proposed resurrections would seem to require knowledge of threads with that status.

There was a thread of personal historical interest to me which I assume was in Sports Talk, but could also have been in Chit Chat or The Lounge which I have been unable to find through any method and assume may have been archived. It would have been started in the few days leading up to 02/15/2004 late in the evening and was about I think four (not 100% on the number) winning student vouchers to the Duke game. The OP said he would be out at a particular street corner drinking a beer for a certain period of time with the winning vouchers and they were free to whoever came by first. The response of most was to assume it was fake and to troll the OP, but two suite-mates and I decided to give it a try and quickly headed to the location. He was good to his word and gave us the winning vouchers for free with mugging or rape involved, and commented something to the effect of, "Go tell those assholes on TWW to go F themselves!". We got tickets in the next couple days to great seats (after having not won or probably avoiding entirely the voucher lottery process). Then NC State beat #1 Duke in a thriller, we rushed the court, and when we went outside it was snowing lightly and I THINK classes were either delayed or canceled the next day. I distinctly remember a guy dancing around with a homemade sign that said "STOMP THE NERDS!" This is also the game after which Julius Hodge gave his famous "When we hungry, we eat!" interview, although we were unaware of this until getting back and watching the clips or a recording.

I would appreciate a chance to confirm or fill in missing details using this thread, and to see who else that might still be active posted in it. I would also like to again thank the OP for making possible this lifelong memory through his generosity. Hopefully that could be enough detail to locate it. I don't remember the exact title, but keywords could be vouchers, tickets, Duke, etc.

wasn't my doing. tww used to have a lot of server issue and the original developers had put in place an automatic archival policy at some point to reduce database load. The plan was to restore it all in site3, but

I had forgotten how much of a doubter I was early in the thread, and it was 8 winning vouchers, not 4. Don't remember how many we picked up. 4 at most, and I believe 3 of us actually went to the game.

How much does it cost to run the website for a year? I have no idea what kind of number is even close. I'd guess $3000? Is that way high or way low?
