I have to confess I have broken deals accidentally.

Is it a dealbreaker if a chick you're out with is something other than "single" on facebook? For me, this doesn't break the deal, but for some reason fb relationship status seems to be like the ultimate authority in a girl's mind.

this brings up a good point. i prefer my SO to not be on fb. it's not a deal breaker but it makes life easier

this is like, energy star ultimate efficiency in avoiding loads of drama either perceived or real

i do fb and he does linkedin, works wonderfully

^^ not really, let me clarify

he had fb and hated it so he deactivated his account

he can get on my fb whenever he wants (some of his friends contact us or him through my fb bc its easier for them)

im just sayin. and no one here can say that their relationship has ever ever been impacted by something on fb. not to say it was an epic fight or broke up, but some sort of "what did you mean by ...." or some old ass picture that someone tagged you in. its just needless drama that is always there.

to be clear, fb was never a problem for us when we both had accounts but i see other peoples drama and im just thankful thats not even an option for us

honestly, when things go to the next level (marriage) we'll probably be one of those annoying couples that shares 1 fb page.

That applies to a lot of things (religion, politics, etc.) It's not my place to tell you how to live your life, just so you don't try to force your views on me. My girlfriend was a vegetarian when we met, but she didn't mind when I would eat it. And it worked. Eventually she gave it up which made things much easier at mealtime, but it wasn't an issue beforehand. If she had told me I shouldn't eat it, at the beginning of the relationship, that would have been a deal-breaker.

Others for me (in the past, anyway, the girl I'm currently with thankfully has none of these issues):

Red Flag: Dislikes watching any kind of sports
Dealbreaker: Gets angry/tries to prevent me from watching any kind of sports (I have seen the grief this has caused my dad over the years)

Red Flag: Past drug use
Dealbreaker: Current drug use (extremely occasional pot use *might* be allowable but is not preferred)

Red Flag: Does not read for pleasure/lack of intellectual curiosity
Dealbreaker: Didn't finish school with no plans to remedy the situation, unintelligent, intellectually lazy

Red Flag: Treats waitstaff/clerks/service industry personnel poorly
Dealbreaker: Racism, Homophobia, Elitism, Cruelty

^^^I don't speak for anyone else--it's just not something I do, and don't want to have to deal with it on a regular basis. I've seen several relationships where it has caused problems when one party smokes and the other doesn't, and just don't want to get into that. Plus it gets expensive.

i have never had any drama from facebook. early on i just said, "i don't put relationship status on facebook because i think it causes unnecessary drama. it is no reflection on how i feel about you. i am not doing anything shady on facebook, if you ever want you can look at my messages to confirm this." it helps though that i don't date insecure girls; usually people are insecure because they are projecting their own guilty feelings about doing something wrong onto their partner.
