I'd rather listen to local shows than national shows 95% of the time. The 5% is usually NFL Network on Sirius/XM

I hear where you're coming from, but have to disagree somewhat, at least when it comes to the 3pm-7pm show on WFNZ

if a caller had a good or interesting point, Packer would usually give him 5 minutes on the air, whether he was discussing something with him, or completely calling him out

meanwhile, Taylor and Marc must have some quota sheet of # of calls per hour, that they somehow bungle by taking their sweet time with sponsors, while cutting off callers with legitimate points immediately to say "we're almost at the break" so they can spend 5 minutes sucking Wilburn Auto Body's overpriced dicks or talking about how delicious some average bar's shitty food is that they got in the studio for free

I mean, I know how radio works, they have to have sponsors to make money and stay on the air, but god damn, they would get more listeners, who in turn would be more likely to listen to the commercials instead of just switching stations during breaks, if they had some legitimate discussion

I mean shit, their topic today was "Which is worse, PEDs in baseball, college players getting paid, or the recent cheating in NASCAR". I mean, ok, talk about the bullshit that makes NASCAR a joke of a "sport" and compare it, but basing a 4 hour show on that is just kinda lazy imo

Marc and Taylor currently fill Packman's timeslot. As bad as Packer was, they're worse

Taylor is Taylor Zarzour, who is not bad, though his company line towing forces him to just disconnect callers making a good point. Marc is Marc James who is a complete joke.

Anyway, point is Primetime with the Packman seemed inferior, but in hindsight, it was actually a good show

they do have Steve Smith on their show every Monday...and not like a 10 minute phone interview...he's in the studio all show for 4 hours every Monday....so thats pretty sweet

Frank and Buck turned into Frank and Moose (Muhammad) who left so now its Frank and Marc Yarbrough (spelling?)...Yarbs was the producer of The Morning Sports Page when it was Celania and Gary Williams...Celania is still my favorite of everybody on that station...but I like Bustin Loose cause even though Frank isn't that eloquent, he did play college ball and NFL ball and nobody else did on the station so I like his perspective...also, LOL

I've said it before, but listen to Chuck and Chernoff on 680 the Fan from 3pm to 6pm. Best Braves coverage by far, but they cover everything nationally too and dont do the typical "our local teams play in a vacuum" shit.

They've completely fucked the schedule and shows. What's on 620 in the morning? I like Mike, dmitri, and Lauren. That and Mike and Mike are fine. Then lebetard is good but they cut him early for David Glenn whose show should be like an hour long. Dan Patrick is gone for some reason. Cowherd and David Glenn at the same time gives me nothing to listen to. I used to have Jim Rome at that time but not anymore. Then we get to Adam and Joe, which is also good.

I do listen on 99.3, just easier for me to refer to it as 620 the buzz.

Apparently Dan Patrick got bumped to 1550AM (in Raleigh) and the Sports Shop is now on 99.3 in the same time slot. I haven't given the Sports Shop more than a few minutes of a listen this week, but so far I'm wishing they would being the DP Show back.

What about The Morning Show do you like? I can handle Lauren and Maniscalco, but Dimitri absolutely kills the show for me. Lauren and Mike are the kings of the "audible sigh" when discussing a topic that frustrates them.

My favorite is Steve Czaban on Yahoo Sports Radio in the mornings. I've been a big fan of his since he was in Charlotte in the late 90s.

My second fav is Colin Cowherd... I don't understand why people hate him so much. I like his approach to sports talk... a lot of sociology and non sports comparisons.

The only thing that don't like is when he rarely brings up State. Just last week he said how Russell was told he wouldn't start his senior year. Totally wrong... but I sure as hell wouldn't call in to his show to correct him. Callers rarely come across as normal.
