I fully agree, believe it or not. The problem is while trying not to show how bad they feel about themselves they make matters worse. In your moment, do you feel the need to run around telling everyone how gorgeous you are or validate yourself by telling everyone in sight that you supposedly don't care? (I don't think you do. If you did, I'd hate on you regardless of whether or not I think you're fugly.) That's the irritating bit. I'll point out, I'm not referencing Schumer here. They've all put out movies and TV shows where they are the main character (obviously there will be other main characters...Schumer has Bill Hader and other peeps in this flick). And Wiig is straight murdering it right now. From big time movies to independent films, she's the female comedian that's really "paving the way". Only argument you might be able to make is that she's actually attractive...so maybe Schumer will be paving the way for butter-face comedians? Or is it because she started in stand-up and not SNL? I don't see how that really makes a difference. The reason there haven't been more of those in the past is because most female stand-up comedians blow (and lets not get angry, stand-up in general is struggling now). I don't see how Schumer succeeding is going to automatically make these women funnier.

I also don't think think the success of this movie is going to create a new niche for unattractive funny women to start making millions on rom-coms. There are still enough hot women who can do those types of movies (Elizabeth Banks-types), that Hollywood isn't going to start paying uggos to play opposite Bradley Cooper. If this succeeds, she'll get a movie every now and then that will fit perfectly for her just like it does for that butter-ball McCarthy (hopefully the movies won't be as bad).
