I don’t think Hartman will torch us anymore than he normally does. Need our offense to show up though (in all ACC games) because even a really good defense probably isn’t gonna hold WF under 30.

Yeah that was weird. I get trying run the ball (which they did for the first few plays) so that you can run the clock down, get into FG range, and not leave Clemson any time. But they really screwed that last drive up. Waited till it was 2nd and 13 with 60 seconds left to pass. And then they got sacked. Gotta get further down the field before you just starting running the ball and running the clock

Clemson's offense has been fine this season. Uiagalelei has actually been good all season and Shipley is still probably the best RB in the conference. Their offensive line play is vastly improved and that probably plays a big role in DJU not looking like garbage.

I'm extremely concerned about our ability to move the ball against their defense. I don't think our line will be able to open holes for the running game and I'm doubtful if Leary can accurately throw deep to take advantage of their secondary.

But for real. I know Clemson’s secondary had injuries. No idea what the status of those guys next week will be. I hope holding DSK out is just precautionary. Clemson is really good. And we’ll need to play better than we’ve played so far to beat them

^ yeah that’s particularly damning Imo. He kinda seems in the same mold of Jimbo. Defensive minded coach, recruits well, is cool trying to win games 21-17. That style just doesn’t work in college football nowadays. You gotta be able to put up 40 points every once in a while. There’s a reason Saban doesn’t play that style anymore. Savan evolved. These dudes haven’t yet.

Anybody can recruit well at Oregon, especially since the California schools have all sucked for the better part of 2 decades now. They have the full financial might of Phil Knight and can essentially hand pick any recruit from the West Coast.

Yes, recruiting at Oregon isn’t a problem. Maybe that changes a little with USC being relevant again and/or conference realignment, I don’t know. I think Cristobal was known as a good recruiter prior to Oregon too. And Miami boosters went all in on him and NIL and better funding for the program. Which will probably result in more good recruiting. My point is, he’s proven very little in terms of winning as a head coach.

I get that this is all easy to say after they just got smashed by Duke.
