Well, bronco, somebody posted the Atlantic standings, then somebody said last in the acc, so I went to look at the other half. Once there, I noticed that the bottom of theirs is also made up of NC teams. Since that was what I was thinking at the moment, that is what I posted, but I realize it is tangentially related at best.

Yikes if we lose to Syracuse at home and Mitchell doesn't come back healthy we have a legitimate shot of not winning a single game this year.

Not a good start Doeren. He's got two more years to prove he can coach.

I'm still giving him the benefit of the doubt but this really going to hamper his recruiting efforts.

We needed to get rid of TOB two years ago. Not only did he sabotage us by cutting Russell Wilson, he left the cupboard barren with his horrible recruiting.

Defensive line is legitimately the only unit on our roster that is ACC caliber. And ACC caliber isn't saying much.

this is not some different planet where physics is different. He's proven he can coach period by being a great coach at NIU. None of our previous coaches in either sport were proven coaches before coming here.

If he can't coach here then its obviously something wrong with us and we might as well bring chuck back at that point

When TOB left BC, he left the cupboards stocked with proven talent(mainly juniors and seniors starting with an All-ACC/first round QB). When Doeren left NIU, he left it with a proven system and a talented team with a solid roster(including an all-conference QB that puts up video game numbers).

When TOB left NC State, he left it without a proven QB, no depth at QB, a poor OL, no depth on D and really no experience outside of a few key positions. We have a few play makers on both sides of the ball, but many have been banged up this year.

Brightside: We're playing a lot of true freshman and from basically every person who has seen our team practice/spring game, our best QB on the roster is redshirting this year and will be starting for us next year. If we can get the OL ironed out for next year I think our offense will be much improved. Not only are those freshman playing, but many are playing really well and making some great plays(look at Tocho this past game, first start, 2 picks).

Downside: This season is going to be hard to watch. But I think most realistic fans knew that before the season our ceiling for this year was 6-7 wins barring Mitchell/Thomas being a revelation at the position. Before the season I predicted we'd get swept by the in-state schools(Wake, Duke, UNC, ECU), so I probably had lower expectations than most.

Yeah this is turing into a lost season for us. I'm holding out hope that Mitchell's return will bring some life to the offense, but the shear number of injuries is really becoming an issue especially with our obvious lack of depth.

I just hope we are competitive against Duke, UNC, and EZU. I expect us to lose fairly embarassingly to FSU, BC, and UMd.
