We were 1 play the last 2 years from 10-win seasons, and we weren't even close to playing in the ACC Championship game.
Next goal should be 10 wins. Then it should be starting and finishing the same season in the top 25.
Build the program into a consistent top 25 team, establish yourself as #2 in the Atlantic and a top 4-5 program in the ACC, and continue to improve recruiting.
Clemson is a juggernaut right now and it's going to take something drastic to slow them down. Likely going to need Dabo to jump to Bama or Venables to finally want to become a HC or get poached by a NFL team to be DC. As long as Dabo and Venables are there, that is a top 5 program for the foreseeable future.
We're just now getting to the point where a good number of our starters were 4* talent. Clemson is at the point where some of the back-ups were 5* talent. We can scheme and develop kids all day and be great at it, but I think you saw the talent disparity between us and Clemson/A&M, we need to continue improving recruiting. 1/2/2019 9:14:27 AM |

Ehh I’d slightly disagree. Id say we were kinda close to the Atlantic last year. We lost to clemson by one possession, a win there and we’d have won the division.
But yeah overall I agree. Getting to the ACCCG would be a big milestone. But with juggernaut Clemson in the division, it isn’t really a very attainable goal at the moment. Definitely need the stars to align similar to last year (or even this year to a lesser extent) where we have a veteran team and get clemson at home and have a legit shot to knock them off. But for the time being, I’m perfectly happy winning 9 games/year and trying to get over the hump to become a perennial top 25 team.1/2/2019 9:29:20 AM |
