I'm looking for a hunting rifle that fires a .270 magnum. I got a deer with one in Alaska and really liked the rifle. 9/15/2008 12:38:30 AM |
Fumbler All American 4670 Posts user info edit post |
You don't need a magnum for deer. The regular 270 is more than enough. 9/15/2008 2:28:04 PM |

yeah but the magnum is adequate for elk at up to around 400 yards. 9/15/2008 3:26:00 PM |

Im looking for something in the <$75 range to work on as a lil project. I dont mind beat up stocks, missing finish or some surface rust. If any of yall have some sitting in a closet or barn let me know. 9/22/2008 12:58:34 AM |

Check out PDHSC off Tryon in Garner.
They usually have a handful of used rifles for pretty cheap.
BTW, anyone know where the best deal on a XD .40 is currently? I'm going to buy one in the next 2 weeks.

I believe youngguns has one. Call for price, but before shipping/fees/taxes the base price should be around $500, worth every penny though.
For a few bucks more you can get its bigger cousin: the SP-01.9/26/2008 6:32:03 PM |

Norinco 1911 that I posted earlier. Gun has hogue grips, extended beavertail safety, and match hammer. It comes with one magazine and a bianchi accumold belt slide holster.
Looking for $350 firm. I had interest before, but I refuse to drive 2-3 hours to deliver it. Gas is too expensive now. Willing to meet anywhere in Raleigh/Cary.

Best = S&W Model 41
Best value = Ruger Mark I/II/II or 22/45 The Browning Buckmark is a good value too. 9/29/2008 2:58:54 PM |

yeah we shot the ruger 22/45 over the weekend. how about the walther p22 or sig mosquito. those just look more like handguns but any difference in the way they shoot? 9/29/2008 5:08:11 PM |

the walther p22 isn't a a great pistol in my opinion... the model 41 is one hell of a pistol but pricey, i would go with a ruger MKII or MKIII 9/29/2008 5:40:14 PM |

Krazed, the ruger mark 3 is a great gun, and as a 22/45 owner i will warn you, if you get one, read the manual 2-3 time before taking it apart, and look at the assembly videos online when you put it back together after cleaning. They can bit tricky to reassemble as a toggle tend to flip the wrong way round and hang up when you try to seat everything back.
PDHSC did have some pretty good deals on the rugers last time i was there. 9/29/2008 6:10:26 PM |

Don't know how set you are on .22, but if you're willing to go up to a full-size caliber, AIM Surplus sells Mosin's for $69. They're not in awesome condition, but I'm planning on buying a couple for fixer-uppers once I get my C&R back.10/2/2008 1:28:32 PM |

P220 9mm? As far as I know, the P220 has always been .45 only. The P226 is the main Sig 9mm.
As for the XD, you might as well just pick one up from Lawman's. They run $418-ish there and that's less than most people sell used ones for (successfully). 10/4/2008 7:59:41 PM |
legatic All American 7481 Posts user info edit post |
what's the lawman's website? is it http://www.lawmens.com ? they only seem to carry beretta and s&w, and it looks like they only sell most of 'em to LEOs 10/4/2008 8:22:04 PM |
dave421 All American 1391 Posts user info edit post |
website is completely separate from their retail sales. They do specialize in LE sales but most of their inventory is open to sale to the general public. If you go to their location in Raleigh (Anvil Dr. iirc), they have Springfield, Kahr, Ruger, S&W, Glock, and a couple of others. Some ARE LE only (Glock and most of the standard Sigs (non poly & non SAS) but they've got the best deals that I've found anywhere (including online) and really great service in my experience. I've bought several handguns from them and pick up some ammo every time I come to Raleigh since it also tends to be cheaper than buying online. They have some great deals on used guns too since they buy out departments when they switch out their sidearms every few years. 10/4/2008 9:11:49 PM |
