they took the stage for the jammies last night but did not play together, trey played some beatles tunes and a lineup of umphreys/bisco with russo on drums playeda handful of phish songs. heres a great first hand account of the night:

Quote :
"Awesome night. Amazing music. Lots of fun.

Incredibly to see the boys together again in one place.

Page played a set with a bunch of serious jazz players...
Nicholas Payton, James Carter (!!!!), Roy Haynes and Christian
McBride.

They played a jazz standard first (whose name now escapes me).
Very nice. Page was a bit over his head here but that's to be
expected with the people he was playing with. They then went
into Cars, Trucks, Buses which was very cool.

(The drummer was 83 years old and played with Charlie Parker!)

Trey came out during the Fab Faux set. I was just saying to my
friend...boy it'd be great if he came out for 'While my Guitar
Gently Weeps' and on cue...there was the ginger guitar player...
TEARING it up. Then they did Me&My Monkey which also had
some great Trey guitar playing. Trey had some fierce interaction
with Jimmy Vivino. Very fun. Very high energy.

Danny Clinch gave a nice talk about the band...and then they
all came on to receive their awards. There was some sort of
film montage too of the band. They all spoke...briefly, except
for Trey. Fishman asked if we knew some joke...then he said
well, I'm not going to tell it here...and passed the mic.
Very nice, fun Fishman moment. Trey seemed very moved
and talked about how the band was bigger than the four
of them. He started off saying...there's something I've been
wanting to express for a long time. I thought he might be
leading to some bigger revelation but I think they're all
trying to figure out how to view this crazy thing that
happened to them...nowfrom the rear view mirror.

(See Paul McCartney, etc.)

They left the stage and Russo, Jake from Umphree's, Brownie
and Barber from tDB and the Umphree's key player (name?)
took the stage.

Setlist:

Wilson, Antelope, 2001 and then Maze with Magner from the
Biscuits.

Considering they probably didn't spend too much time working
on these tunes...they played them very well and each had
some great, intense jam moments. The energy was very high for
this. Magner on keys really pushed the Maze jam into some
high places.

I paid for the $40 seats and had no problem moving up to
the middle-center area.

I had so much fun and wasn't even planning on going
until someone called me with an extra.

In retrospect, and I'm sure others have said this...it was much,
much better that they didn't play some half-assed, weird
set together on this night.

I left very satisfied...and also felt a deep re-connection
for all the inspiration and fun that Phish gave me for so
long.

I think it was very appropriate that the final tribute set
was played by the Biscuits and Umphree's guys (with Russo).

These were really the first bands to emerge on the
bigger scene who were directly influenced by what Phish
had done.

Brownie called them his favorite band last night and the love
and respect for that music by all those guys was obvious.

Phish was dancing on the side of the stage.

It really was a very feel good kind of evening.

And that's always a good to be reminded of...
You CAN feel goooooood.

And life goes on...

There is a letter on Phish.com from Page implying that there is a possibility of a reunion and that they plan on meeting later in the year. Rumors have been flying lately and the Walnut Creek DVD comes out early August as well which will be fantastic (rained during the show and they played based on the weather)
