i think lsu is #1 regardless of what happens in this game. i think clemson has a very good case to be #2. if OSU loses (which is looking unlikely at this point) i think oklahoma goes above them.

but at this point i don't see OSU "keeping" the #1 spot (remember, all the in-season rankings mean absolutely jack shit.) can't wait for clemson to pants them.

I kind of agree. Since that 1 point UNC win when they just looked off all game, they have absolutely been steamrolling everyone, many times not even trying to score by playing 2nd and 3rd stringers in the 3rd and 4th quarters. I mean they just put up 62 on a pretty decent UVA team which isn’t the same as when OSU crushed a terrible Maryland team and were actively trying to do it, even doing an on-side kick.

Speaking of Maryland they started out with 2 blowout wins to start the season and get ranked, then finished 3-9.

OU obviously totally outmatched. But what a strange existence their fans have been through lately. Multiple Heisman winners. Mostly cruising through the Big 12. One of the most consistently prolific offenses year to year. And they haven’t even really sniffed a national title.

Clemson’s DL isn’t as dominant as previous years. They usually need to blitz to get pressure on the QB. That doesn’t seem like a good recipe vs LSU due to how quickly LSU gets the ball out. Clemson should be able to move the ball better vs LSU than they did vs OSU. Should be a fun game. Clemson also got super banged up last night so I’m sure that’ll bode well for LSU
