Update to reloading stuff:
Here's what I have - About 450 Oregon Trail Laser-Cast bullets(155 gr.) About 450 West Coast Bullet Plated bullets(155 gr.) About 200 Montana Gold bullets(200 gr.) A bag of 230 mix-headstamp cases A bag of 33 primed once-fired Winchester cases A bag of 111 primed once-fired RP cases A handful of primed nickel Speer and Winchester cases A 4-piece Lee Deluxe Carbide die set A couple of MTM cases
I'll take $160 firm for the whole lot - I will not break up any of it, and it's sale depends on the sale of my above listed Taurus. The buyer of it gets first dibs, then drunktyper, then whoever else.

Ive got a 3 dot horton red dot scope that would work great for a small rimfire rifle. Yes, I know that horton is made for crossbows, but it works the same as any other red dot scope. I will let it go for $40. It is brand new, only on my crossbow for about 2 days before someone gave me a nice UTG scope. 11/11/2008 1:33:26 AM |

It "may work the same", but the recoil of the gun, over several shots will most likely mess up your accuracy. A crossbow sight won't hold center the same as a sight designed for a rifle. 11/11/2008 10:57:15 AM |

I know the price of assault rifles is now skyrocketing, just wondering at past gun shows what ar-15's were goin for? Also if anyone is a guitar player i am willing to trade a marshall amp and cash for a half decent semi-auto pistol. 11/12/2008 3:01:06 PM |

that's like asking "at past car auctions, what were cars going for?"
AR-15s can be found in so many different configurations that it's impossible to answer a question like that without more information. 11/12/2008 4:58:54 PM |

I just took a significant pay cut though, so I'm selling a lot of stuff that I'm not shooting much to re-align my gun collection with what I anticipate will be in short supply in the next few years
^ I've said it in other threads, don't get hung up on the AR system. The AK is far more reliable than the AR and much cheaper to own if you search for a good deal and, once you own one, cheaper to shoot period. If you're cool with basics that go bang, it sounds like an AK might be right up your alley. ]11/12/2008 5:54:48 PM |

Actually, a crossbow has quite a bit of "recoil" . Not in the same sense as a rifle though. But a crossbow scope has to be made to handle lots of vibration and stay on site. It sounds crazy, but I cut my eye on another scope that I had on this bow while shooting it.11/12/2008 6:07:22 PM |

sorry I dont have any links for bushmaster parts but...
I bought a stripped lower from PDHSC here in raleigh for $119, RRA LPK from Cold War Shooters for $70, RRA 16" upper from Ten Percent Firearms for $510, and RRA stock from Ten Percent Firearms for $75.
so just around $774 out the door and I could have gone cheaper

Quote : | "do you by any chance have any pistols you wanna sell?" | Depends on what you're looking to spend. I might be.
^ a Jim Fuller built rifle by Rifle Dynamics is probably as close to top of the line as you're going to get in an AK, but it'll cost you a bit of cash and take 3 - 6 months for him to build it. A step down would be an Arsenal ( http://www.arsenalinc.com/calibers762.htm ) for around $800 which will be a top of the line production gun out of Bulgaria.
That is the high end though. You can get a very good weapon for around $400, you've just got to look around and know what you're looking for. Gabe Suarez of Suarez International is a BIG AK proponent and does a good bit of AK specific tactical training. His forum is http://www.warriortalk.com and he has a complete section dedicated to Kalashnikov variants: http://tinyurl.com/5alqj2 I don't have time to go into the threads and find specific ones that touch on new AKs but you can find them if you look a bit.
Here is a bit I picked up on what to look for in an AK though (don't blame me for the horrendous spelling, I just copied over):
Quote : | "When looking at a AK of unknown build and quality, check for;
Muzzle device removes freely when the detent is pressed in, with no evidense of chipping, nicking or gouging that may indicate a round is skipping off the brake. [exeternal wear may be acceptable, depending upon your preferance].
Crown is well shaped, with no errosion, rust, dents, dings, or gouges. Threads should be clean and well present.
Bayonet lug[s] present
Front sight assembly, gas block and rear sight block are straight (Very Important--Look closely!)
Rear sight should be correct for the model you are purchasing
Action is smooth with one soft bump as bolt and carrier ride over the hammer
Magazines should move in and out easily, but lock up reasonably tight with little to no wobble
proper amount of USA parts are installed
Red star arms or G2 FCG used
rivets are smooth and even - none over squashed or under pressed
Optic rail should be even and straight with teh top of the receiver, with no pressing in on the receiver
Pistol grip is fitted flush, with proper grip reinforcement plate, with no wbble present
Stock should eb solide with no wobble, which is particularly important on folding stocks. There should be no wobble, and it should be lined sraight with the receiver.
No dents in action cover, action cover should be tight, but still reasonable easy to remove
No corrosion or rust evident on gun, external or interior
Bore should be bright and shiny, with no flaking in the chrome lining, no pitting or rust evident
QUALITY RECEIVER!!! NoDak Spud/DCI receiver, Adapted SAIGA or Arsenal Receivers are the best.
No metal wear on the bolt or bolt head, and Firing pin protrusion should fall within accepted parameters. Finish wear in these areas is perfectly acceptable.
Handguards should be tight with little to no wobble, and no gap between the lower handguard and receiver. Lower handguard should fit flush and even with the receiver.
Bore should be straight and even [check this by looking through the bore across the edge of a table and comparing the shadow inside]
Safety should work safely and reliably, trigger pull should be smooth, with a medium pull length
Finally, general fit and finish, and what type of finish [I prefer KG Industries gunkote over park, but your preferances may vary]. " |
I am by no means an AK expert, these are just some things I've picked up. ]11/12/2008 10:34:37 PM |

AK wise, you may try instead of a parts kit buying a 'sporter import'. What that is is instead of being built on an american reciever, they are built as single stack butthole sporter rifles in foreign country x. A US company places the 922(r) parts, widens the magwell to accept double stacks and replaces the furniture to traditional pistol grip.
Romanian SARs, WASRs, and Bulgarian SSR-85's are like this, off the top of my head. 11/14/2008 12:49:03 AM |
