After thinking about it, I think this was a good deal. Jackson is a decent young arm in a hitter's park and could be good under Duncan. Marc Rzepczynski is only 25 and clearly better than Trevor Miller. Dotel and Patterson are good rentals until the end of the year. PJ Walters hasn't shown much and Brian Tallet was a waste of a signing. Also Cards are getting 3 possible players to be named later.

I agree, but our relievers kill me. We have to have given up 15 late inning leads this year, and that is probably an underestimate. With even an average bullpen we're in first.

What's our post-season rotation looking like? Carpenter/Lohse/Garcia? I dunno, I would say Carpenter and Lohse are virtual locks, and Westbrook is a definite no-go. Garcia will probably get the nod, but Jackson has had moments where he looked really good - although they are both really inconsistent.
