always go over your EOBs & bills. i've found errors, however small, that had to be corrected.

I have to admit I never look at it. I paid $40 at the start and my health insurance pays for everything else up until labor. I'm sure if there's a billing error my insurance company will jump on it since the way my plan is set up they're the ones stuck paying for it

It was decided I am healthy enough to make my c-section date of the 20th.

I had the state mandated STD tests at the beginning. 3 weeks ago I had the Strep B culture. The only other testing I have had done was my weekly liver function/HELLP panel. Well and the pee strip of course (protein, glucose, ketones, etc.)

With the complications with my son, the insurance was billed 55,000. Our share was 12k. My work paid half of the deductible. They switched the insurance in the middle and I ended up going through 2 separate deductibles. The level 2 ultra sound was almost 1700 and it wasn't covered under the 1st one. The repeat on the other insurance was just a deductible.

If this is routine, I should end up paying around 4K for my c-section with a typical stay under my current insurance. My OB has her share 2900 for the care in escrow. Since my deductible is 3, I will pretty much only pay my co-insurance in the hospital and get back the 1500 from work for maxing my deductible.

Yeah, they wouldn't say that if it was a large NT or abnormal result.. And I think a lot of prenatal counselors have been slammed recently because of all the new testing being offered. I guess that's my future in about t-minus two weeks

If you get a positive result for an STD don't freak out. There's actually more false positives than actual positives with those things because the overall incidence of the STD is less than the accuracy rate of the test.

32 weeks now & jesus i have some MEAN cramps this morning. they're a little better now but holy crap i should have stayed at home. i've had a couple instances of braxton hicks contractions, but these feel a little different. it's more of a steady dull ache like with a period, but there's no pattern or anything to these so i haven't called the doc. i've laid down for a while & i'm currently chugging water. i have a prenatal massage scheduled for 2:30 & i'm realllyyy looking forward to that (i've never had a professional massage of any type).

73,you describe very similar to how I felt the last few weeks of my third tri. I occasionally had BH, but every now and then I was just really crampy...a dull ache like you've described. I just felt kinda off as well, and it was never really anything that could be timed (that came later...and oh hell that was obvious). Not to say you're the same and I certainly don't want to alarm you (or get you excited), but every time I went to the doc after i felt that way I had dilated some.

dull ache/crampy & off-feeling is exactly it. i feel better, and the massage definitely contributed, but not 100%. i never called the doc's office. if i still feel weird tomorrow, i'll call the doc-on-call i guess. the baby has moved around a lot more than typical today & into a lot of weird positions (weird in that it's not normally twisted around that way). it's been head-down for several weeks now & has stayed that way, & still is that way from what i can feel.

i'm back to painting the nursery now. i plan/hope to have at least the walls finished this weekend. chris will have to degloss the trim before we paint that, thankfully the next couple of days won't be too hot or humid to have the windows open.

What kind of crib are you guys looking at? I went to buybuybaby this morning to look at some of their convertible cribs and picked up some pamphlets.

Walmart seems to have really good prices on Graco convertible cribs online (between $150-$175) with really good reviews. Not sure what kind of wood they are made out of but I may swing by the store and see if they have them there.

I found a crib that I really like at buybuybaby for ~$500. It had a changing table attached to the crib. You can remove the changing table if you want to put it somewhere else. I searched and found the same crib on Target.com for $400.

i think my nesting instinct thing has kicked into over drive, but i don't have a whole lot i can do. we still don't have a LOT of things, but we still have 2 more showers (work & my family) that are going to happen in several weeks...so i don't want to go buying stuff that somebody might give us. kinda frustrating. i'm done with painting the room & i'm waiting on a shelf to dry so i can hang it up & put the legos on it out of reach of the kid. i've washed everything i can. man i really hope somebody buys us the crib now that we have the stroller & chris's mom is buying all the cloth diapers.

we're using the top of the dresser as a changing table, so no need for another piece of furniture. we also already have a full/double size bed with a headboard built by my great grandfather in that room so i don't need the crib to turn into an adult bed (the olivia does turn into a toddler bed, just not a full/double adult one). i'm also kind of retardedly picky about having all 4 sides of the crib be the same height. i have no idea why...it's just what i like lol

also, all the cribs i've looked at on walmart's site have said what kind of wood they're made out of, so you might be able to find it there. my experience with our walmart is that they have 2-3 different cheapo ones in the store & that's it. ymmv of course

Anything in the $100-$200 range from a place like Target or Wal-mart is going to be particle wood with a wood veneer. For some people they have no problem with that. For other they want something that will actually last long enough to become a full size bed one day. I'm kind of in the camp of not caring as long as the crib can at least survive the toddler bed stage.

My mother-in-law has offered to buy us a crib but it has turned into an absolute nightmare. Anything we send her to look at is "too junky", "too modern", "too much like a prison." And yes, those are all real excuses she has for not liking the ones we choose. At this point I feel like telling her "thanks but no thanks" and just buying the crib we want.

We put our changing table (which is really an old hall table that we already had that looks like a changing table, so it'll go back to being a hall table again one day) in the closet of our nursery to save space. It's a nice setup. You'll like that with the crib.

I'm the baby of my family. My husband is not. I've always been a "daddy's girl" and will always be one. My parents went to look at cribs for their house on Saturday. They went to Smart Momma on Glenwood (where Fred's Beds used to be). They had a ton of convertible cribs and almost all came with a free conversion kit (which places like babiesrus and buybuybaby make you buy seperately) and something like $40 off.

My dad said he wants to help us pay for all the baby expenses. He is one of those people that can't make a big purchase (like a crib or a stroller) without doing experiments or hours of research on the product. Apparently at Smart Momma, he tried to get into a crib. His reasoning to my mom was "Well it has to be sturdy enough if its to convert to a full size bed" And he was throwing himself on all the strollers to see if they were sturdy enough. You know in case we get stuck in a wind storm. Stroller needs to be able to withstand 120 pound Japanese men flying into it

I wonder if Consumer Reports ever puts out a baby issue. My dad swears up and down by Consumer Reports.

I picked a couple cribs that I liked from Amazon (in the Amazon top 100 cribs list) and emailed them to my dad. There was one that said it was great for shorter people (and I'm just under 5 ft). We'll see how he likes those after he does his 100 hours of research

Have you guys thought of any names yet? We find out the gender next Tuesday and have been thinking about a couple girl and boy names. I think we settled on a name if its a boy

Boy: Henry. Middle name would be Duryea (husband's family name) Henry is my grandfather's name who passed away in 2007. I know it would mean a lot to my dad and my grandmother.

Girl: I'm thinking either Paisley or Alivia. Alivia would be pronounced like Olivia but with an A. Most people I tell that name to either absolutely adore it or absolutely hate it. Paisley has gotten mostly positive comments. Middle name for both would be Maria. So either Paisley Maria or Alivia Maria.

I'm an Erica. It's a common name with a common alternate spelling. While it isn't a major inconvenience, I have to correct the spelling from Erika often enough for it to be irritating. I can't imagine what a pain in the ass Alivia would be. She would despise auto correct in no time at all.

I'm almost positive the restaurant is pronounced "Alivia" and not "Olivia." At least when I ate there for lunch the one time the waitress said, "Welcome to Alivia's." I also knew a girl from Australia named Alivia that pronounced it as it's spelled.

I have a weird name and when I was in elementary and middle school it annoyed the crap out of me by high school I got over it. I'd rather have the name I have than be one of a bajillion Jessicas or Stephanies born in the 80s.

Meh. I've decided someone is gonna make a name difficult no matter what. I had the double first name problem. I met someone after hs from my hometown whom asked me how my sister Kelly was--dude I don't have a sister. Laura Kelly is one person.

My son with a simple name Ryan gets that southern pronunciation "rhine" a lot. Makes me cringe. And my grandmother keeps calling him Bryan.
