trump is a master manipulator and genius businessman. He is playing a psychological game of self-contrast. In business, this means come to the table with unreasonable, one-sided offers that you present as non-negotiable. Leave that offer on the table until the other party just about loses all hope in making a deal at all, then return the table with an offer that is much less one sided. After all the time has passed with them thinking your offers are completely unfair, the new, (still bad) offer seems desirable.

This is a long-term business strategy of self-contrast and its how trump is running his campaign. The last few days we have seen the new trump that will suddenly look appealing compared to trump from a month ago. The election is so long that he wants to peak in the last few weeks. I now believe he made a calculated decision to tank the campaign and make people feel like clinton won already so that he can come back with this self-contrast.

I actually believe he planned the whole campaign out from primary to general for several years. I think he studied the way people and media react as well as psychology. He wrote about a lot of this stuff in his book "the art of the deal". He's simply translated those strategies into politics.

Almost nothing you say here is based in reality. There's some truth that trump has a bully's adeptness at getting under people's skin. But he's not a genius businessman, he didn't write the art of the deal, he hasn't demonstrated any long-term planning skills, his psychology reads resonate strongly with a small set of people but haven't found mass market appeal.

He's a haphazard campaigner and a consummate demagogue... which he probably didn't plan to be, but Who does?

I'm not saying he's a great man but theres no way he would have built his empire if he was stupid and didn't know how to read people and situations. He also outsmarted the entire republican party and all of the money behind them. You have to give him more credit than that. He knows what he's doing.
