Pujols had his chance and swung at ball four. Coulda been bases loaded no outs too after the walk to Holliday. Poor hitting performance by the whole team. Oh well. Gotta win 2 at home and Jaime was great last time. 10/24/2011 11:56:55 PM |

Why is mediocre Colby Lewis so good in the playoffs?
Hopefully Jaime brings the same stuff he did last start and MH and LB start hitting.

Jim, close, but not quite. Game 7 of 2001 between the Yankees and the Diamondbacks. One of the only games the Yankees lost after which I was not totally depressed.
Oh, and you are welcome Red Bird Fans for breaking the jinx.

Tito Francona coaching our Cardinals???
Francona, Sandberg (lol at Cubs if this happens), Joe McEwing, Oquendo, Mike Matheny, Terry Pendleton all rumored to interview.
McEwing apparently is the brightest young manager in the game. Coached the Winston Salem Dash and got manager of the year. Later was the Knights skipper this past year and is supposed to be third base for White Sox big league team in 2012. He's also a scrappy former player who is very young. 11/3/2011 2:19:29 AM |

I am getting really nervous about the whole Pujols thing. Fortunately, the marlins just pulled their offer off the table, so he won't be going there. I think he wants to stay in St. Louis, he just wants to also get paid. 12/7/2011 6:27:09 PM |

Quote : | "Tim Brown of Yahoo! Sports reports that Albert Pujols will sign a 10-year deal with the Angels worth between $250-260 million. That certainly qualifies as a shocker. Everyone was talking about the Marlins as the biggest threat to sign Pujols away from St. Louis just 24 hours ago, but the Angels came out of nowhere with what will be one of the biggest contracts in MLB history. According to Brown, Pujols made up his mind Thursday morning and the contract includes a full no-trade clause. Stay tuned for more details. " |

Call me crazy, but this is a good move by STL. $25 million to a guy that will be 42 when the contract ends.
Now go trade for Hanley and we will be fine. Prince a possibility? Lol that would be funny to Brewers fans. How much does Prince want 17-18 million?

So weak it had the Wild Card team and eventual champion right? Central has been better than the West several years running. Plus having 6 teams, it obviously means more chance of good and bad teams in it. I hate to see the Astros leave, but it needs to be even across the board. And wait a minute, aren't you a Cubs fan? They are the reason, along with Pitt, that the Central bottom is weak. 12/23/2011 10:35:12 PM |

No doubt huh? Both the Phillies and Braves have comparable rotations, but it's hard to argue for either the Cards or Braves given all of the injuries on each rotation the past year. If the Cards get Oswalt and Wainwright is healthy, then yeah they have a stout rotation.
Also LOL at the Yankees having the best rotation. What the fuck are you smoking?1/30/2012 8:37:54 AM |
