It's not until the past day or so that I've realized how well I avoid answering the "How are you?" question. I.e., until I am actively avoiding the question

Going back to the 'enough with the damn pleasantries' sentiment, all that's required is a "So, what's on the schedule/where are we going?" derails damn near everyone. Why bother wasting your breath on a question like asking how someone you see all the time is doing?
