While the lady shouldn't have turned left in front of him. I think he was probably going a little faster than he needed to. The article didn't say if he had his sirens on. If he did, then there was no excuse for her to not realize that she needed to look for the source of the sirens. If he didn't have them on then she may have not had enough time to realize that this car she is pulling out in front of is going a lot faster than the average car on this road and with it being the morning the sun may have made the lights harder to recognize what was going on.

Regardless, I think it's sad that someone had to die, especially an 11 year old. I also think it's really sad that two other children are in the hospital for serious injuries.

I think that the cop probably has some fault in the accident but he won't be punished for any of it. I think whoever was speeding probably had no clue what happened.
