NC State giving a master class on how to lose a basketball game

Recipe was kinda there for us to win. Braxton with a big game. Funderburk with a big game. Our press when we could get into it, did cause turnovers. Cam Johnson got hurt with 12 mins left, opening the door for a comeback.

But we got down 20-4 or something like that and Markell played his worst game I can remember. Daniels brought nothing to the table. Our offense got real stagnant and timid when we got to ~6 mins left. It was either jack up a 3, or drive and hope to get fouled (but refs were letting contact go so that didn’t work).

It sucks to lose. It really sucks to lose when you realize that we’re every bit as good as UNC but it just didn’t come together tonight.

Markell Johnson's mom was said to be a major UNC jersey chaser. It is rumored that he may in fact be the illegitimate son of Dean Smith himself. This is because she just couldn't get enough so Dean came to her one day and said, "If I let you get this, will you leave us alone and promise your spawn to that horrid school in Raleigh?". She agreed, spit out little poor Markell. He had to take his sorry ass to Carolina State based on this oath. The rest is history. Probably why he shot so poorly tonight. Couldn't upset his poor momma.

While I disagree that the game was fine I think we'll be fine going forward. This is only Keatts second year with a bunch of players who were playing in mid-majors previously. If we fine tune our half court offense I think we'll be fine.

We were too hype. Seems like we never could calm down and play in control. Love the effort and fight though, we split 1-1 with UNC last year and the road team won both games.
